This exquisite fragrance from Estee Lauder is both youthful and classic at the same time. I'm in my mid 50's, and feel it's a scent I can wear as easily as my daughter can, it truly has a broad appeal to all ages. It is one of my favourite Estee Lauder fragrances.
I prefer this to it's predecessor, Modern Muse, I feel it has much more sparkle & vibrancy. Even the bottle design, with it's classic style & vibrant red cap is more visually appealing.
I am a sucker for most Rose dominant fragrances, and this one definitely fits my criteria in a major way. While Rose notes are prominent, it is the Fruit notes (Berries & Currants) that lighten the fragrance and give it vibrancy. The combination is blended seamlessly, I love how this perfume joyfully opens with these delicious, sparkling notes.
The powdery musk based base notes are also a favourite, this perfume lasts well, and lingers for hours. Being an Eau De Parfum, I find I don't need to use much, and it lasts well into my work day. I feel it is both office friendly and sexy enough to wear on a night out. Very versatile!
If you love Rose based scents and are looking for something a little different, I highly recommend trying this gorgeous fragrance. Very highly recommended.

Modern Muse La Rouge juice can be found inside a funky and modern bottle. I like the touch of red on top of the spray as it makes it clear this fragrance is meant to be very feminine and maybe girly too. I must say I like Le Rouge much more than I like the original Modern Muse. And in my opinion Le Rouge is the scent that is and will be liked by many. It is a lovely marriage of fruity head notes and more powdery patchouli heart base. The first impression is of mix berries (raspberries, blackberries) and currants ( red and black). Next we feel rose and well-executed red pepper notes that seem to be standing out in that fragrance. Later on patchouli notes make an appearance leading us to the powdery musky base.
I am impressed how easy and pleasant is to wear this fragrance. It's fruity and sweet, but not overly sweet. To me it's sparkling and light. A touch of rose makes it very girly and feminine. I can imagine wearing this fragrance to work but it is also suitable for every day. Makes a rainy day smell more of summer.
Modern Muse La Rouge smells a bit like a high end lipstick, and reminds me of Armani Si ( but is not as Sweet) so I believe this fragrance is a lovely alternative for Si lovers. It really smells delicious, elegant and sexy too, so it's worth trying.
