I use this everyday in my hair!

I use this in my hair everyday either in the shower as my conditioner or if I have extra time as a hair mask, it is also really good as a leave in treatment or used as the last product when styling my hair to help moisturise and keep flyaways nice and neat. The Garnier Hair Food Nourishing Banana for Dry Hair is white in colour and is of a light to medium consistency I like that for a multi use product as this allows you to be able to use it multiple ways. It smells absolutely divine it reminds me of the banana shaped lollies I was obsessed with as a child. The hair food comes it a bright yellow and white tub which really stands out with the cookies and the way it is packaged in the large tub. I would recommend this hair food to everyone.

Left my hair dry

I thought I would try this product as I know how wonderful Garnier are at their product smells and blends. I have dry hair and when I saw these lined up at my local Coles at a lower price point I grabbed one. Nourishing banana sounded like it would be great for my hair. Unfortunately it did not nourish my dry hair ( dyed blonde for years now so quite dry ) it actually made it feel dry and tangled. I was looking forward to a mask to replenish so nutrients into my hair. The smell is amazing and I definitely feel it wasn’t too much. The packaging was a nice big tub however hard to navigate in the shower. I wouldn’t but this particular blend again but would be willing to maybe try a different mix.

A cocktail for your hair

Oh Garner,i do love your products...you always surprise me. I have long used Garnier products...they just seem to give results without the exxy pricepoint or need to go further than my local supermarket to get them, and this is no different. When this variation of the Fructis Hair Food Treatment came out in banana,i knew i would get the same gorgeous result i had received with the papaya one,but with a "summertime in a huge tub" scent. This leaves your hair truly soft, manageable and easy to style in only a few minutes (i leave it one for the entire duration of my shower..so 15 minutes or so),and i love how my very long, very fine (but lots of it),colour "helped" hair comes up after using it.I find that the severe tangles i get from wearing my hair up every day seem to reduce, that my hair just looks more cared for and it smells amazing for days after (truly...three days or more).I don't see a lot of difference as far as volume goes, but i want hydration and repair in my haircare more than volume,so i don;t mind at all.I also love how the ingredients read more like a recipe than a chemist's cocktail (aloe extract, sunflower seed oil, coconut oil, banana extract etc) plus the tub it comes in is huge...just under 400ml for under $10.You have to try this (if only for the scent and the good "summertime fun" feel you get after.

Nourishing Banana Hair Food

The first thing that caught my eye was the packaging it really stands out, the tub is white and bright yellow the perfect bright banana colour. I could smell the beautiful sweet banana scent from outside of the packaging it just made me want to dig in. White in colour and nice and thick you can use this hair food 3 ways, as a conditioner, a mask and as a leave in. I have used it all 3 ways to see how it works best for me hair. I really like the results of using it as a mask, after shampooing and conditioning I applied the size of a 20 cent piece to my hair and left in for a couple of minutes while I cleansed my face etc then rinsed. My hair was so hydrated and soft after use. My favourite way to use this is leaving it in, after shampooing and conditioning my hair I applied a 10 cent piece amount and left it to dry naturally. I have very thick and frizzy hair normally and this really softened, hydrated and smoothed my hair down making it really easy for me to run my straightener through it once it was dried. I would definitely recommend the Fructis Banana Food for Dry Hair.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

This is such a great product! I used to be sceptical about these types of products but I thought why not try it and have loved it ever since. I love that it is mostly natural and has not nastiesi in it. I have fine and frizzy hair and use a treatment instead of a conditioner. This one has been great. The best part about this product is the smell! I also have used this as a leave in conditioner for days I am wearing my hair curly in a ponytail and find that it keeps my hair smooth with no frizz. After using the product and I always find that it leaves my hair feeling smooth and not heavy at all. I don' find that it leaves any residue and it is easily washed out. I love that this product has been designed to be versatile and used in different ways depending on your hair types and needs. This product is also great value for money! I am onto my third tub and will continue using this product! Love it!

Flexible usage

I have been trying this hair food various ways as suggested on the label to see which method I prefer. I have used it as a conditioner after washing my hair. By doing this, I am able to comb my hair out without encountering any knots. I have used it as a hair mask leaving it in my hair overnight and then wash my hair the next morning. It certainly makes the ends of my hair feeling softer and the rest of my hair looks glossier. I have also combed this product through dry hair midway down to my ends. This worked as well as the overnight method but I did end up pulling my hair back that day in case it got sticky during the humid weather. This hair mask does have a beautiful banana scent. It’s not overpowering. This product does have a lot of advantages and I will be purchasing this again. I would recommend that Garnier needs to repackage this product into a squeeze bottle for easy dispensing. At time of writing this product is Made in Poland.

Needs better packaging

I think I would have given this product another star if it was better packaged. The twist lid tub is not practical at all and the tub itself is quite large which is great value for money but it doesn’t sit well on a shelf or fit in a shower caddy. I hated this as a leave in product. It left my hair oily and heavy. But as a mask/conditioner it worked very well. I substituted it for my normal conditioner once per week and noticed the difference, particularly when blow drying! I love the smell of this, its very refreshing! I think this will be in my rotation for a while as a little goes a long, long way.

Just so-so..

The size of this hair treatment is pretty decent, but the packaging is less than ideal. The design looks cheap and tacky, and I personally prefer a squeeze tube or bottle, and the tub is messy to use in the shower. I also found the smell very strong and a little overpowering, especially when using this product in the shower. In regard to performance, the treatment is just so-so. I tried using it as a conditioner, hair mask, and leave-in treatment, and can say I'd only use it as a conditioner/hair mask from now on. As a leave-in treatment I found it made my hair look super greasy, which is surprising as I get really dry ends. As a conditioner/mask it did appear to hydrate my hair a little, but I cannot say it did much in the way of repair. I would say this is an okay hair mask for someone on a budget, but I personally wouldn't repurchase as I think there are better value for money products available.

Did absolutely nothing for my dry hair!!!

I've used a lot of hair masks in my time, from salon to drugstore, and unfortunately for me this was the absolute worst. My hair is really long, bleached, and dry, so I normally use a mask in place of normal conditioner. I grabbed this at Coles one time as I ran out of my usual mask and it was super cheap, and I thought the packaging looked cute. Unfortunately I failed to read that this "natural" mask had no silicones - something my hair desperately needs to provide slip and detangling. I could've used the entire massive tub of this on my hair and still it did absolutely nothing. I was left with super dry hair that was tangled and I couldn't get a comb through it. It smelt nice but that's about it - ended up going in the trash because nobody else even wanted it. Not a fan of this new range of Garnier "natural" products as some of us need silicones, especially for dry hair! Terrible!!!
