I only use John Frieda products as i know how good they are for my bottled blonde hair. I wasn't expecting to necessarily go blonder or cover my roots with this product so i just followed the instructions and left it on for a good 15 minutes as oppsed to the recommended 5 minutes. It definitely brightened my blonde and made it shinier whilst not lightening it. It turned my starting-to-dull blonde streaks a nicer shade of gold and whilst i thought it was a little expensive for the limited results, i do buy a couple of tubes when they're half price. I liked it but wouldn't rush out to pay $17.99 expecting to go blonde but for a mid salon visit, it's worth a try in my opinion.
I was hoping to use this as a "top up" between colouring. I left it on a bit longer as I usually do this with most blonding products, however it really didn't live up to expectations.  I might try it again (when it comes on special) and leave it on for longer. I just need a touch up on roots and underneath layer
John Freida has been a staple in my bathroom for years....his entire Blonde range is fantastic at keeping my platinum locks looking as good as the day i walked out of the salon,BUT this just seemed a little disappointing. I used this as directed....Apply entire contents of treatment (two joined tubes) to wet hair, concentrating on the root regrowth (or all over...depending on your desired results),leave on for 5 minutes then rinse. This is great for natural, highlighted and colored hair (don't expect to go blonde if you are a brunette though).I did all this, but didn't really notice any significant difference.I was waiting for any hint of shade variation in my hair (slightly darker roots) to be softened....but it didn't happen as i had imagined (i didn't expect a huge change, but enough to warrant the space in my shower routine). It left my hair soft, shiny and not at all "colour treated" damaged, but i did have high hopes after my previous experiences with John (my love still remains it must be noted). I will give this another shot, and see if i can utilise this to perhaps lengthen the time between trips to my hairdresser. TIP:Use a toning shampoo / conditioner post treatment for the ultimate blonde hue between salon will reduce brassiness.
