La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat

my skin feels quite greasy directly after applying and there is a slight shine but it's not too bad once it soaks in. The smell isn't overpowering but it is a little strange, I also found my skin would have some redness that didn't seem to reduce over the day. It's a reasonable price so perhaps worth giving it a go if you are looking for something that doesn't leave a shine however my skin felt a little tight which I guess for some people would be great I just felt like it wasn't moisturised enough

Love!!! My skin is oily usually and this moisturiser keep my skin in a good condition (not very very Matt) because I like dewy finish not Matt, it smells so good like flowers and a little goes a long way, I will definitely repurchase it again when I run out ;)

I have dry skin but this moisturiser is perfect for me during the warmer months because it is lightweight on skin and dries down to matte finish. This moisturiser works beautifully as a makeup base as it minimise the appearance of my large pores and it doesn't interfere with my foundation. Although it is an oil free moisturiser it still kept my face hydrated throughout the day. The plastic tub packaging is very handy for travelling.

Absolutely adore this, fabulous product, love, love, love it. It’s super light to wear with the most gorgeous silky, fluid texture, it feels divine to apply, it spreads easily and sinks straight into my skin making my skin feel super soft and hydrated and with a gorgeous matte finish. This leaves my skin fresh all day, it prevents oiliness and shine and makes a beautiful base for makeup, making it also last longer. I love how the product makes my skin feel so fresh all day, I can’t honestly be without it as it gives my skin such a flawless finish. It won’t irritate sensitive skin, is great value and it really WORKS. LOVE it and highly recommend it, simply gorgeous.

I think I have used all the products available in the Effaclar range, and I enjoy using them all. This one however is my least favourite. Do not get me wrong. It is a great moisturiser with a mattifying effect for oily and combination skins. In my opinion it just lacks a wow factor. It hydrates the skin, yes, it will never clog your pores, on the contrary, it might help to clear them, but it just does not mattify enough for me. And on top of that, it might not work well with some of the make up primers and foundations. It might pile on and ball up, and I hate this feeling. If it is used on its own, it is perfect. I suppose it is designed to be a day cream, as at night we do not need a matte effect, so it should be improved.

I love the fresh smell of this product, it's lovely to have on my face. I am quite oily and have been recommended to use this product by multiple people so when I finally tried it, it did not disappoint. It leaves the face feeling lovely, soft and matte. The tube has a convenient flip top so you never lose the lid. It is a bit expensive especially for the size of the product but it does seem worth it as it is a good base to have under my make up.

I have combination skin and I do find that my face gets a bit too oily when wearing makeup and I was hoping this moisturiser would help keep me matte. I didn't think it made much of a difference but I found it too drying for me. For more oily skin types it is a great lightweight moisturiser.

I really enjoyed this moisturiser. It was light weight enough to absorb into the skin but moisturising enough to help my dry skin. It works well under makeup, leaving you with a subtle natural glow. I wouldn’t say that this was a super mattifyimf product, however for being a moisturiser, it certainly does a lovely job.

This moisturiser is nice and lightweight, leaving your skin feeling hydrated. This product works well under makeup and it does help to minimise the look of any pores. The combination of this product and the effaclar duo, work well together when trying to minimise breakouts. I would recommend this moisturiser and plus its super affordable.

On my day-to-day routine I typically bounce between the Toleraine Ultra Moisturiser and Ultra Light also by La Roche Posay. These moisturisers are my holy grail (HG), but upon trying the Effaclar Mat Moisturiser I feel it is just as nice to wear on the skin, if not even better suited especially in the Summer time when you want something light that doesn't disrupt other skin/make up layers you will most likely put on top. It has a nice lightweight texture for my combination oily (and acne prone) skin and doesn't break me out. Moving forward, I think I would repurchase the Effaclar Mat moisturiser to use as a daytime moisturiser in the summer and use Toleraine Ultra during the Winter.

This product is great as a daytime moisturiser, and was excellent as both a moisturiser and primer combination. It left my skin feeling matte, it blended well concealing my pores, and sat nicely underneath both foundation and tinted moisturiser. This product is perfect for summer, however I would lean towards a heavier product in the winter.

This product isn't for me. Over the summer, my skin has gotten a bit drier. It may work well for oily skin, but it just isn't for me so I can't comment on its effectiveness. The packaging is very convenient though with the pump tube which is my favourite kind of packaging.

I enjoyed how light weight and lightly fragranced this Moisturiser was, how ever I found even the smallest amount took ages to absorb/ massage into the skin and if I touched my face during the say the product would ball up and fall off, even if I had spent long amounts of time rubbing into the skin.

This product is a nice, lightweight formula which has felt great on my skin in the warm summer months. It creates a matte base on the skin, which is great for oily/combination skin types. I didn't need to use much product either, so it is also quite affordable. Perfect for everyday use and under makeup!

I really enjoyed this moisturiser. Super light, no smells, no stinging or build up of product. Leaves skin feeling soft and definitely helps combat oiliness throughout the day (used in conjunction with Effaclar Duo +). I am yet to try this as a makeup base primer, however I have high hopes! I would recommend this to anyone with oily skin concerns and I would definitely repurchase.

A great moisturiser that has a lovely lightweight feel. My skin tends to get quite oily throughout the day so I was unsure how well this would actually work for me but I am quite impressed. Under make up this lasted quite well and really helped keep my oiliness at bay. Would definitely try this gain!!

This is quickly becoming my favourite daytime moisturiser. It is so lightweight, absorbs very quickly, and like every other La Roche Posay product, has the most refreshing scent and a little product goes such a long way! It gave such a nice soft matte effect to skin and was the perfect base for under makeup. My only complaints are that the dryer patches of my combination skin felt a little too dehydrated with continual use of this product (but this was quickly fixed with a richer night cream) and a lack of spf. Overall, still a great product that I will definitely repurchase.

The La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat is a lovely light moisturiser that keeps your skin feeling fresh. I didn’t find that it gave a very matte finish, but that is not an issue for me. I found that it did clog my pores more than my Dermalogica moisturiser but I do have very acne prone skin. Would recommend to someone who wants a lovely, light moisturiser for normal skin.

Fantastic product for those with oily skin wanting a matte finish. Also great acting as a primer prior to applying makeup, as the skin is prepped and not 'slippery'. Along with a great aesthetic product, it also helped with breakouts below the first layer of skin and cleared up breakouts. Definitely will be purchasing again!

This lightweight moisturiser would be up there as one of my fave products from the Effaclar range. Absorbed quickly, wore well under makeup and sunscreen. It helped to keep me matte during these hot summer days. I didn’t have to touch up as often as I normally do. Not sure it will be enough in winter but I’ll be purchasing to use next summer. Good basic moisturiser that didn’t irritate my skin or break me out.
