Maybelline New York Dream Satin Liquid Foundation

After hearing so many great things about this foundation I bought it to try but was really disappointed in the way it looked and behaved on my skin.  I found that it emphasised texture and generally made my skin look and feel heavy during the day.  I tried water based and silicone primers underneath as well as no primers at all and it did not seem to make a great deal of difference.  It just didn’t make my skin look and feel healthy at all.  I have an ageing / combination skin type so this product may be suited to a more younger complexion.

I love a good base for every day, night time and special occasion wear. I’ve tried a lot of different foundations from different high end and affordable brands and I’ve built a nice foundation wardrobe with a selection of foundations that fit my every need, look and occasion. I have high end favourites such as Giorgio Armani, Charlotte Tilbury and it cosmetics. My more affordable few include L’Oréal Paris, Rimmel and last but not least at all, Maybelline New York. Maybelline New York are a long time favourite, affordable and fun makeup brand ever. Their products might be cheap but they certainly deliver in terms of quantity, quality, selection, colour and fashion. Their eye shadow palettes are brilliant, colourful and fun and seriously smooth and highly pigmented, great for every day wear that is seriously comparable to brands like Huda beauty and Anastasia Beverly Hills. They have great lipsticks and glosses and brow products too, but my favourite thing from the range is their foundations. They have a huge selection of colours, finishes and always match my skin type colour and tone perfectly and last all day until my evening routine. I’m starting to edge towards the drier side of things with my skin as I get closer to the big 3-0 so when I spotted this newly reformulated Dream Satin liquid foundation, supposed to be infused with serum and giving skin a satin, velvety finish to skin, I was sold hook line and sinker. As always with Maybelline foundations, the ivory shade is absolutely perfect for my pale, light, fair skin colour that I’m blessed/cursed with. After my usual double cleanse, serum, moisturiser and primer, I pumped out a small amount of this rich and creamy product and started spreading it onto my face with my beloved real techniques foundation brush, over my forehead, nose cheeks and chin, buffing and blending it in until it was seamless and flawless. I added another small amount to areas of blemishes and redness and blended thoroughly again until I was left with smooth, soft, even and radiantly flawless skin in minutes of not very hard work. The colour, the coverage, the finish, the wear and the beautiful velvety, radiant yet not shiny in any way, look and feel of this foundation had me hooked, happy and in love immediately. It lasted all day, it applied so smoothly and blended perfectly in minutes and the rest of my makeup applied and looked so flawless. Day, night, work and play, it is ideal for everything I do on any day or night. The pump applicator is my favourite ever on any skin or makeup product as it’s mess free and hygienic and a little bit goes a very long way, so even though you don’t pay much in the first place, it’s worth every penny. You could even buy a back up bottle or two, like I did recently at the Priceline 50% off sale on now. Having a collection, wardrobe if you like, of foundation that works for your every need and occasion is worth the time effort and money, especially if you find the ones that really work for you and you absolutely love. I really liked this for price, quantity and quality but it will never take the place of my beloved Charlotte Tilbury magic foundation or It cosmetics your skin but better cc cream, otherwise it gets full marks, five stars.

I got this foundation from my partner and I couldn't be more surprised on how smooth it was! I've always liked Maybelline products, but this one stood out for me. It really gives you a satin/glowing skin and last for a considerable time. The coverage is medium, so it is a good one to wear on your daily activities. Would certainly buy that again! =)

The Maybelline New York Dream Satin Liquid Foundation said to be a full coverage foundation and full coverage foundations are generally not my friend as I have dry skin. Normally when I use full coverage foundations, it makes my skin flaky and cracks. But surprisingly this foundation doesn’t have those problems on my skin. I use one pump to get a natural finish and the foundation looks better after it sinks onto my skin.

I absolutely loved the maybelline dream satin liquid foundation. It gives a nice medium coverage, not too heavy but enough for a smooth flawless finish and to cover imperfections. I loved that this foundation felt nice and light to wear and did not go cakey. I tend to have an oily tzone and this foundation absorbed oil well for a nice matte finish. It comes at a great price so great value for money and I also never need to use a lot so it lasts really well. It glides on smoothly and is easy to blend, I just use fingers or a beauty blender. This foundation is also really hydrating so I don’t end up with dry skin at the end of the day so the addition of hydrating serum is awesome. I love that this foundation gives skin a luminous quality and with 10 shades it’s super easy to find a perfect skin match. I really loved this foundation especially for the price. I would recommend this.

Awesome drugstore foundation. Its advertised as full coverage though and I would say its more medium/natural coverage. It has a dewy and luminous and radiant finish, it blends beautifully and feels very moisturising on your skin. Lasts most of the day but even when it does wear down, it does so evenly - not caking or separating. Great every day foundation. Would definitely recommend!

I absolutely loved this product and am very happy with the final finish! It provided me the perfect amount of coverage and it lasted all day without streaking or fading. I am also prone to acne and this product definitely didn't make my break out. Would definitely repurchase in store and recommend to family and friends.

I was super impressed with this foundation.I usually wear higher end foundation, however after giving this one a go I am very sold. It goes on smooth and I can get through the day without it coming off. Overall I will definitely consider this as my daily foundation and would consider purchasing again.

I Loved this product so much, it left my skin feeling smooth and silky. The foundation lasted all day with great coverage.  At this wonderful price point I would recommend to all my friends. I have been using this foundation now for a few weeks and have not experienced a breakout, so overall would purchase again.

I have been using the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation for a few weeks now. Overall I am quite impressed. The colour I picked was 03 Nude based on online colour swatch. About my skin: my skin is usually normal to combination, but it has been slightly dehydrated due to winter that has just past. I have no particular concerns apart from some fine lines and dark circles under eyes. I usually wear tinted moisturisers and save foundations for special occasions. I prefers a sheer and lumimous finish. My go-to foundation is Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk for special occasions. About the packaging of this foundation: the packaging is very sleek with a pump that functions well. It is simple but practical. About the colour: It is always difficult to pick a foundation colour even in store - let alone on a screen. I ended up picking 03 Nude, which is about 1 shade too dark and 1 to 2 shades too orange. (For reference, I am usually an NC 20/25 in MAC). The colour I picked looks like the 3rd lightest available in the range. I think the colour range is quite limited, especially for the fair colours. If I am going to purchase this again, I would definitely go into store and spend some time to find a better colour match. About the application: this foundation is silky smooth and very easy to blend, even just with fingers! It doesn't dry quick and doesn't set straight away so that I can keep moving it around to blend. The texture reminds me of MAC Mineralised foundation, which is one of my favourite foundations in the MAC range. The foundation is very comfortable to wear on my dehydrated skin all day. It doesn't feel tight or dry. In fact I can hardly feel it during the day. About its buildability: this foundation is great for sheer coverage; at the same time, it is buildable to a medium coverage. However, because of my poor colour choice,  I could not go any heavier as the colour is not right - so I can't comment on whether it would  give me a full coverage. And now the results: this foundation give me a real satin luminous finish that is not too shiny. There is only very little creasing into lines, and minimal transfer onto clothing. It is not very long lasting compared to some other foundations I have (although, bearing in mind that most of my other foundations are in the $60-$100 price range). That said, when this foundation fades it just slowly disappears in the afternoon, but it doesn't slide off or becomes patchy, which is fine by me because I would generally prefer a sheer coverage anyway.  However, for those who is looking for a better longevity, I would recommend using it in conjunction with a good primer, and set the foundation with either a powder or a setting spray. Overall, I am very happy with this foundation particularly given the affordable price. I recommend this for someone who is looking for a sheer to medium coverage foundation that wears comfortably throughout the day, at a very reasonable price.

After receiving my Maybelline dream Satan liquid, I was pleasantly surprised how well it match my skin, I chose no 21 nude colour and the colour match was perfect for my skin and was very surprised with the coverage of this foundation was very pleased with it.i found the foundation was was very easy to apply and it did last all day wasn’t drying or oily on my skin.

I really enjoyed trialing this medium coverage foundation.  Very moisturising to my dry skin.  Shade was a little dark, however application still looked good on my skin tone.  Pleasant aroma and easy to apply for a natural look.  For the price this foundation is a great value for a quality product.

Loved the soft, light, silky feel of this foundation. Felt marvelous on the skin. However I didn’t find this foundation to be super long lasting felt more like a slightly heavier tinted moisturizer rather than an all day/night heavy duty foundation and wasn’t so great for coverage.

I loved the silky smooth texture of this foundation and it blended very easily, even with my dryish skin, however I found it to be more like a bb cream than a foundation as it didnt offer much coverage. It only lasted a few hours before melting off, so I wouldn't recommend this for a night out or times when you need a long wearing foundation. It has a fresh scent that I didnt mind even though I'm used to makeup with no fragrance and the pump pack makes it easy to dispense just the right amount. I liked the way it left my skin looking luminous and hydrated and would use this on days when you just want a little bit of a soft glow and not much coverage. The colour wal quite z good match for my skintone too, so overall quite happy with the result.

Im not a regular foundation wearer but trialed this product as a intro into daily foundation. What a fantastically smooth product! its wears long and soft all day. It kept my skin feeling hydrated and soft, without being oily. I found it blended well with my little bit of shimmer blush that I regularly use. The smell was lovely and not overpowering. I like that it has a hint of suncreen for protection. The colour was spot on and not orange, something I usually have trouble with. great everyday use product!

I have been using the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation for over a week now and I would rate it as a medium coverage foundation.   It has a great silky feel yet doesn't feel oily on the skin.     I found it provided good overall coverage without looking or feeling that you were too "made up" or being caked on.   The colour match really blended well with my natural skin tone, and gave a slight dewy look which gives you a healthy glow.    I would recommend this as a great every day easywear foundation.

Using the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation was easy, and although the coverage was light it could be built up for fuller coverage. The foundation was smooth and moisturising, and I found that it lasted all day. It also blended really well, and I liked the delicate fragrance. It also wasn't oily which meant my skin didn't get that greasy look towards the end of the day. This one will definitely be added to my make up bag!

Im all about coverage and moisture when it comes to a good foundation as i find my skin gets dry during the colder months. That’s why I love the feeling of this foundation. It has a seemless glide on texture that feels smooth and enough moisture to leave your skin feeling hydrated. It has decent coverage and paired with a good bronzer this foundation will leave your skin looking fantastic. Definitely recommend for anyone who has dry to normal skin.

I found this foundation went on easily and gave good coverage and an even finish.  The colour matched perfectly, and I was able to build on it to give more coverage for going out at night.  I loved the dewy look and it wore well in hot weather, and didn't melt off as some products do.  I don't spend a lot of time applying my makeup for work, and this product was quick and easy to use.  I would definitely buy and use this product again!

I normally purchase matte high-end foundation but due to the warmer weather approaching I decided to give this foundation a try as it is a lighter coverage foundation. The foundation is light and you only need a small amount to cover a large area. I used a foundation brush to apply it and it blended well. The coverage is natural-medium depending on how much product you use and gives you a ‘dewy’ summer look. I used a light translucent powder to give the product a little more longevity throughout the day and it worked well. This will be a great product to use in summer to achieve a fresh natural glowy summer look. Although I still prefer my full-coverage foundation for special events, this is definitely something I’d wear throughout the day.
