Prefer the Regenerist Whip

This is one of the three varieties of Olay's 'whip' line of jar moisturisers - there's the Total Effects Whip, Regenrist Whip and the Illuminating Whip. I've tried both the Regenerist and this Total Effects version. It boasts of a 'light as air' texture, matte finish and shine control, hydration, vitamins B3 (niacinamide), B5, E and Green Tea and BHT antioxidants and it also contains Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vit C derivative). It also has glycerin for hydration. In terms of the formula, the only significant active ingredient high up in the ingredients list is niacinamide - which is an excellent ingredient for regulating sebum, strengthening the skin barrier, and evening out skin tone. Vit E and Vit C are listed towards the end of the ingredients list to have much effect. In terms of the texture, it is non-greasy and reasonably light, but it doesn't exactly dry matte on my combination skin. I have also experienced pilling when applying it over serums. For those deciding between the Regenerist and this Total Effects version, I actually found the texture of the Regenerist version superior in terms of lightness and finish. There is not much difference in terms of active ingredients as the main one is niacinamide for both and the other different ones are low on the ingredients list.

Unfortunately didn't work for my skin

Unfortunately I don't think I'm the target market for this product. I believe this product is more suitable for those with dry or normal skin, not prone to acne. To begin, I have acne-prone, oily skin. It felt quite heavy and silicone-rich, which doesn't feel pleasant on my skin. I could feel like it was immediately clogging my pores, as I am used to using lighter liquid or gel moisturisers. This felt like a thick mousse cream, which didn't spread very well. Therefore I felt like I had to use a generous dollop of product, which would not go particularly far. Another thing that I am not a fan of is the scent - I personally prefer more natural scents, or no fragrance. I understand the Olay Whip range also has a SPF option and a no fragrance option. I found that the scent lingers as well. Unfortunately the true test is that I noticed some breakouts one day after using the moisturiser, so I cannot recommend this for acne-prone skin. I found it generally kept oil at bay for the first few hours, not sure if it lasts the whole 8 hours as claimed on the packaging. I can understand how others are saying it makes a great base for makeup, and I would say it could be a great primer replacement as the silicone creates a smooth surface.
The Olay Total Effects Whip is a light as air moisturiser that has a wonderful whipped texture and applies beautifully. The cream has that typical "Olay" scent, which I quite like and I found that a little product goes a long way. From the initial application, I loved how this cream absorbed quickly and how soft and supple my skin felt. It also seemed to work very well under makeup and longer term I do feel that overall my skin has improved. The only negative that I have experienced is that my skin often felt quite greasy mid afternoon in warmer weather. I would recommend this product for all skin types during the colder months, however it may not be quite as appropriate for oilier skin types in warmer weather.
This is the first product I've used from Olay, though I have seen the brand in my mums skincare kit for years so thought I should give it a try. This particular moisturiser was really nice to apply, its not too thick and blends out beautifully not leaving behind any residue as well as leaving my skin feeling smooth and matte. Its a great moisturiser under makeup and I didn't find it to change the look or colour of my foundation. Overall its a nice moisturiser and I would recommend it to those in their late 20's-30's if you're concerned about wrinkles or oily skin, I don't believe Olay is targeted only at older adults anymore.
Honestly, when I received a rather large sample of this,I was hesitant to try. I've used Olay in the past (looong ago to be fair) and the products just hadn't been right for my oily skin. I am now in my 30s however and my skin isn't quite as oily as it was and is showing minor signs of aging (fine lines, dullness, drier) so I decided to give this a fair try as it seems to target those issues and quite a few more. The product comes packaged in a sturdy jar with this beautiful shimmery wavy design on the front and a silver twist off lid. The product looks like a thick rich cream which initially scared me as I'm more used to using lighter varieties of moisturiser. The scent is quite pleasant,a clean soapy type fragrance, I was immediately impressed upon applying a generous amount to my face and neck. It wasn't heavy feeling at all. In fact,it felt incredibly lightweight and almost watery when applied with a nice cooling feel to my skin. It absorbed really well and truly did smooth over my fine lines so my skin looked more youthful and even. I especially loved how well my makeup applies over this-its a perfect primer! No other moisturiser has worked so well for me under makeup! I have had no issues with breakouts from using this product and my sensitive skin is really liking it, I guess my 30 year old skin is more suited to Olay than my 20 year old skin was. I am very happy that I took the chance to try the range again as I absolutely love this product. I have since purchased the full size of this Whip with the added Spf 30. It has simplified my morning routine so much and I am seeing great results from using this product.  The only downside I can think of is the price. It is rather pricey for a supermarket brand but in saying that.I have never had to pay full price. Olay is always 40 to 50% off somewhere on quite a regular basis so I just stock up on my favourites then! A great product that smoothes and soothes the skin whilst preventing further damage and signs of aging.
Olay is a name that has been on the dressers / in the bathrooms / in the bags of generations of women in one form or another, and for that, there is a reason....the brand is one trusted to look after our skins, and it has done so,fairly well and attempted to evolve to meet the challenges of a new millennia. This offering from Olay is brilliant in theory,as i love a light yet rich feel to my skincare, and the Olay Total Effects Whip matches that beautifully.First thing i loved was the look of the jar...all shimmery and silver accents, and then the feel...soft,silky and yes,a "whipped" texture was there, and a slight, delicate scent which was fresh and clean. I was pleasantly surprised when I applied the so smooth whipped formula to my skin. There was a good feel to this fluffy moisturiser and it did spread very easily leaving the skin feeling soft and smooth, however in honesty,I am not so sure that it does reduce the appearance of my fine lines or wrinkles but I do think this is a good product if you have few issues with ageing and prefer a lighter feel to your skincare.I found the moisturising feel lasted for a good 8 hrs,and would be suited to a "summer weight" product for my skin type (really dry).A huge minus though is the price.....almost $50 for a 50g tub. Now,i am not really such a cosmetic "snob" that a supermarket product or two doesn't cross my bathroom cupboard....they do,BUT,at that price,i would prefer to save a little more coin and get something TRULY great for my skin that has a little more results driven actives, and a lot more actual results. All in all, this is not a bad product, but perhaps look at other brands for better results if you are spending that sort of cash.
I love Olay Total Effects Whip cream because the whipped cream has a very lightweight texture that dry down to semi matte finish which is the perfect way to prepare my skin for makeup. This whip cream keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day and works very well with my foundation, it has replaced my primer. When I remove my makeup in the even, my skin still feels very hydrated and plumped.
When first opening the box, I found The moisturizer was in a pretty jar. The cream was a nice texture when applying, making my face feel refreshed and energized. I found it was lightweight and smoothing over my face, with a small amount going a long way which is really pleasing considering the cost of the product.
Firstly the things I like about this product. Although the texture is different to what I expected it felt nice on the skin. It absorbed well and make up sat nicely over the top. My skin did feel hydrate and soft after application. My biggest issue however was unfortunately this product made me break out. Not a usual occurrence when I try new products so I am unsure what ingredient caused this. A shame because other then that I enjoyed using it.
I think this product is packaged beautifully, feels very luxe and lovely on the skin! There is however not a huge difference I found for this product compared to other face moisturisers I've used previously, and therefore wouldn't recommend it for the price for regular use but great to spoil yourself!
I was very excited to receive the Olay Total Effects Whip! The packaging is so luxe. The cream looks very light and has a thick consistency. When applied on at first it feels very thick like a base primer for your makeup but after a little while it sinks into your skin and doesn't feel sticky like other moisturisers would feel. I absolutely loved it. It left my skin feeling really soft and my makeup applied on nicely on top.
This product is amazing. The packaging is beautiful. The jar is gorgeous. My skin just loved this cream and soaked it right up. It definitely help hydrate my skin and left it so soft and supple. You only need a little bit as it spreads quite far which means the product will last awhile nothing worse than running our straight away. It has a slight fresh smell to it that I really enjoy. This cream is so smooth it’s like velvet to my skin. Would definitely recommend and buy again tho the price is definitely quite high for such a product.
I really cant work out if I like this product. Especially in the winter months I need a lot of hydration in my products and I don't feel like this gave me enough. With that being said the texture and consistency was a new one for me so maybe I just need time to get use to it. Once applied the cream feels very heavy and thick but as soon as you have evenly distributed on your skin it seems to vanish hence why I don't feel it gives me enough moisture especially to stick my make up to. It also does well with minimising pores.
I didn’t like this as much as my usual moisturiser, I felt like it just sat on top of my skin and didn’t really soak in. It definitely made my skin soft to touch, but didn’t feel an intense hydration. I will say it did look nice under makeup as it provided a smooth base.  The feel of the product is quite nice though and the packaging is good and feel high end.
I’m not face cream person however the Olay whip range changed me. The product looked heavy however it gets absorbed pretty quickly. It sits nice and light on the face and I don’t get the urge to wash my face again. It feels a bit greasy when applied for the first time however it’s moisturizes the skin well and leaves it soft at the end of the day. I have pigmentations on my skin which seems to soften with use of the Olay whip cream. It softens fine lines too. I would definitely recommend this product to those who are new to using face moisturiser in their daily routine. The packing is done well. A little dab does go along way. I have used make up on top of it and it doesn’t affect my look at all.
This is a lovely light cream. I love the idea of this range being a bit more light weight and mousse-ish, however I'm not particularly sold on this one. im happy to use this product at night however it is not somehing i enjoy using druing the day. it leaves a strange residue on the skin and therefore makes it difficult for makeup to be applied over the top. i find that my makeup does not stay on the skin over this product.  the packaging is stunning so i will probably keep the jar once im finished but it is a night product for me.
Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the Olay Total Effects Whip Active Moisturiser.  The texture of the cream is quite nice, but I did not like the residue it left in my skin after application. It made me feel sticky and dirty, not what I look for in a moisturiser - I like feeling refreshed after applying cream to my face. Also not a fan of how light it actually is on my skin, I much prefer the weight of heavier moisturisers.  The product wore well throughout the day and due to it’s ‘light as air’ feel, it made applying and wearing make-up over the top all too easy - it almost acted as a primer. It is a very easy and self-explanatory product to use. I wish the tub came with a little spatula to scoop out the cream with though - I hate wasting product under my nails. I won’t be buying this product in the future and based on my experience with this product, I probably wouldn’t recommend it to my family and friends either.
The Olay Total Effects Whip is a beautiful whipped cream which provides an amazing base for makeup.   This cream feels as though it just absorbs into the skin which leaves my skin feeling softer and looking brighter straight after application.  Although this product is a little on the pricey side, it does go a long way so I can justify paying almost $50 for it. I honestly can't fault this product. Absolutely love it.  It has become a staple in my morning skincare routine.
Initially, I  was skeptical about the product when I opened the bottle- the cream looked thick compared to my usual watery moisturisers. I was pleasantly surprised by the play whipped cream, it was not too heavy or thick in comparison to how it looked. It was not the easiest to glide on the skin as it was a bit sticky, however, it sinks into the skin quite quickly compared to the other products that i have tried before (korean moisturisers). It feels cold to the skin and there was no sticky after it sinked into my skin and there was no sensitivity towards the skin nor there was any smell which was perfect for me. I used this morning and night and my skin felt moisturised, and looks more glowy. I have not seen the ability of it to minimise pores or remove the appearance of wrinkles, as i do have quite a lot and neither have ifound any that have done the job as of yet. I really like the packaging though, would rebuy this as it is good value and easy to use.
This whipped cream product is AMAZING . I have never felt a texture like it , it is silky but lightweight and hydrating but not over powering . It also smells divine . It makes my skin feel absolutely gorgeous and I enjoy using it in my skin care routine. The packaging is high end and very attractive. I would definitely re purchase for sure
