The Palmers Coconut oil cleansing balm is truly amazing at removing makeup.  It's so indulgent and satisfying seeing your makeup come off with this handy and super affordable balm.  I had been using another brands cleansing balm and it was very expensive at $65 for a small jar.  While I loved the product and it worked really well I knew it was just too expensive to continue purchasing and went out looking for something that would tick all the boxes without having to fork over too much money.  I came across Palmers coconut oil range and was fascinated with the huge variety of products that they had.  I was even more excited to see that they were selling a coconut oil based cleansing balm for only $12!!! Compared to what I was paying before, it was a steal! Here is a rundown of everything I thought about the product. How it works: Some people not be familiar with a cleansing balm and how it works.  Essentially, it is an oil based product that helps remove dirt, oil and makeup from the face in a gentle yet effective way.  A balm will be relatively thick at first and will start to melt down into an oil as you rub it.  Once you mix it with water it emulsifies and turns milky to cleanse the face.  The palmers coconut oil cleansing balm is exactly that and will help take off everything, including sunscreen and waterproof makeup.   Ingredients: The palmers cleansing balm contains coconut oil which is an amazing oil that helps remove makeup while also keeping skin hydrated.  Coconut oil is praised in the beauty world for working well on all skin types and without causing any breakouts or clogged pores.  Coconut oil is also anti bacterial and anti fungal which can help those who have acne causing bacteria.  While coconut oil is the main ingredient, there are also other wonderful ingredients that compliment it including Tahitian Monoi oil which helps hydrate the skin and protect it from pollution and other environmental stressors.  It also includes sweet almond oil which is full of vitamins and keeps skin hydrated, Vitamin E to hydrate and smooth the skin, coconut water which moisturises and brightens and macadamia nut oil for even more hydration.  It's also important to know what it does not contain: parabens, sulphates, dyes or mineral oil.   First impressions:  When I first opened the jar and scooped the product out I could instantly smell the coconut which was so beautiful and didn't smell artificial.  The product is quite thick and while I am fine with scooping it out with my fingers, it would've been nice if it came with a small spoon to help scoop it out and make it easier.  I rubbed it between my hands to warm it up a bit and then applied it over my face.  It started to turn into an oil and I could literally see the foundation melting off.  I was worried about using it around my eyes as sometimes mine can get quite sensitive and certain ingredients can make it sting like crazy.  I was very cautious and gently rubbed a bit of the oil on top and let it sit to moisten the area and help get my mascara and eyeliner off.  It didn't cause any stinging or pain and wiping off my mascara was so easy.  I found that a cloth worked best for this area so as to make sure everything came off.  When you mixed the oil with a bit of water, it would emulsify and turn into a milky liquid.   Results: After using the cleansing balm I found that the majority of my makeup had been taken off including the sunblock I had been wearing underneath.  The product is designed to really help dissolve everything, leaving your face clean, soft and smooth.  I liked to use the cleansing balm as part of the two step double cleansing process which means I would follow it up with a cleanser to ensure a super clean face and remove any traces that may have been left behind.  You can just stick with using this cleansing balm and then finish it off by rinsing with water.  I was very impressed by how well it worked and was worried that my oily and acne prone skin wouldn't be able to handle the abundance of oils being rubbed on it but to my surprise my skin had no issues.  It hydrated my skin, removed my makeup and it didn't affect my pores or cause any breakouts to appear.  You only have to use a small amount of the product to clean your face which means that cost per use is very cheap!  Final thoughts: Overall I have found this to be an incredible and super affordable makeup remover.  Even on the days when you're not wearing makeup, it cleanses and hydrates your skin and removes dirt, oil and buildup that has accumulated on your face throughout the day.  It even works well at removing sunscreen.  It works well for all skin types and is made up of high quality ingredients so you can be sure that your skin is in for a treat.  No oily residue left behind, just soft and supple skin.  I will definitely repurchase this product!
Palmer's coconut oil cleansing balm is a five star cleansing balm. The balm comes in a round tube with 64 grams and has a very reasonable retail price of $12.00. The tub has a easy removable screw top lid, allowing for no water or extra wastage. My skin- combination oily with tendency to get dry in winter, oily in summer. Prone to clogged pores. The balm smells like the Palmer's traditional smell- coconut and vanilla. The balm is quite thick and oily- as well as what looks like lumpy appearance and feels bumpy. A small amount only 20 cent piece is needed. It applies really thick and lumpy but on application to the skin it is smooth to rub around and becomes quite oily and runny. The balm literally melts makeup off the skin in front of your eyes. Everything is emulsified off the face. The runny texture removes strong foundation, dirt, oil and sunscreen. It does feel alot like coconut oil and the feel of it but that's OK to me. It's easy to remove with water and it turns quite milky and runny. A few splashes and everything is gone. I personally don't find any residue is left and although quite oily it's easy to remove. My skin feels quite refreshed and balanced, not taught or dry. I always wash my face again, with a different cleanser but it's so great to remove make up and dirt. Zero breakouts or clogged pores too. Repurchase? Definitely. I would buy this over and over again. A really affordable balm that removes makeup, dirt, oil and leaves skin really balanced and fresh.  Tips- A small amount is needed rub for a minute to remove all makeup. Ideal For...:  Makeup remover Those who find coconut oil an acne trigger might want to avoid. Anyone with breakouts might find it too much and thick.
