Revlon Konjac Sponge

Konjac sponges are one of the most popular options for gentle, effective, physical exfoliation. You can find a lot of different types at different price points and this is the main reason why I rate this product 3 stars.  This is no different from the $2.80 sponge I can get from Daiso and for that price hike alone, I will dock the stars! Sorry Revlon.  On to the actual product, Konjac sponges come quite firm but after you run them under water for a bit they turn into a wonderfully soft sponge. It is very gentle on the skin and some people may feel this is doing nothing BUT this is definitely exfoliating the skin. This is great for very sensitive skin types - people on tretinoin, accutane, perhaps people with eczema - because of how gentle it is and how soft it is, it's very hard for you to force any damage onto the skin. Even when I have tried to really "scrub" the skin with this, it never irritates me because it just isn't that abrasive.  As such, it's also very gentle over active and recovering acne and still provides a good amount of exfoliation to stop any flakes or clogs! PROS:  - gentle effective exfoliation - doesn't irritate the skin  - biodegradable! CONS: - in this specific case, the price. I found all konjac sponges are equal and you can find them for over half the price 

I've recently been loving the trend of all these new, interesting products! I really loved trying out the konjac sponge - it soaks up water really easily and gets all soft and squishy once it's wet! I use it twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. When I wash my face, I like to first wet the sponge, then squeeze my cleanser onto it. I feel like it really gets into my pores and helps to clean dirt and excess oil away. The sponge has no weird smell and feels incredibly soothing and soft on my skin. Despite it's exfoliating properties, it isn't harsh or abrasive at all and I believe the charcoal helps to draw out impurities in the skin. Absolutely love using this new product and would highly recommend! Pros: - Soft, squishy and gently on the skin - Great cleansing effect, leaves skin soft and clean - Removes makeup well with the addition of cleanser - Super affordable Cons: - None
