Thick Texture, Decent Coverage
Goes on smooth, but quite thick which I didn’t love. Use sparingly. With that said, coverage was good. Definitely a great matte option with no dry out on the skin. I did find it to oxidise so I ended up a with an orange tinge by the end of the day but I would be prepared to try a different shade to see if I had the same problem.
My new fav!
I was very surprised at how light this felt on the face. I find it very hard to find drug store foundation to match my medium tan skinned tone. However, this was spot on. It did not feel like you were wearing anything but still covered most imperfections. It is a light to medium cover foundation. So those wanting a full coverage finish will not like this product. It leave a dewy look so I top it off with translucent powder at the end. I found that the lasting power was also very good. I only had to top up the translucent powder half way through the day. It does not leave my face oily. I've been actively reaching for this foundation over all my high end one and definitely see myself using more of this in winter and an every foundation.
This foundation gives great coverage. True to its name its a nice Matte and didn't make my face shiny like a disco ball. This foundation doesn't make your pores stand out like other foundations. Only down side was it didn't last as long as other foundations I've used but over all, a good value product.
Product is of a nice texture and goes on smoothly. Lools and feels nice when first applied but personally didn't keep a natural look for long enough on my skin, caked and smudged when worn throughout the day. Average product I dont think I'd buy it myself.
Rimmel Lasting Matte
Rimmel lasting matte def lived upto its name it lasted through the day and gave a great matte finish. Liked the texture it was very smooth and easy to apply. Blended easily and had great coverage.
Lightweight Mattifying foundation.
I was so excited to be part of this Rimmel London Lasting Matte Foundation trial.
I received the 203 True Beige foundation and found that this shade would be perfect for my skin tone in the winter months but a little too light during summer months (i tan very fast). Having said that, it works really well with my bronzer on top.
The formula itself is very lightweight and smells really nice. I found it really easy and smooth to apply and unlike other matt foundations I've used in the past, this was really easy to blend and cover any imperfections.
I have combination skin and find that I need to either reapply or touch up my usual foundation, however after applying this foundation in the morning, there was no need to touch up during the day.
I highly recommend this Rimmel Lasting foundation and will definitely be purchasing it in the future.
Thick with high long lasting coverage
I am fair so went with the lightest colour, Porcelain. It was like putting a white mask on - so make sure you colour match correctly. The feel was quite thick with high coverage which I liked. The product did not want to come off with my cleanser - I was left with a film on my face that I did not like. If I had the correct colour I would give this product further testing.
I am not usually a fan of a matte foundation, however, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this. The foundation went on smoothly but did require a lot of blending to ensure a seamless finish. As the coverage is quite heavy the colour does need to match you perfectly, and I was required to add a little of a lighter foundation to make this match.
First of all, thank you to BeautyCrew and Rimmel for the opportunity to trial this product.
I was so excited to try this foundation and it didn’t disappoint. I used my fingers to apply initially and a beauty blender to finish and found the mousse consistency very easy to apply and blended flawlessly. It dried to a silky matte texture and the result was very natural and fresh looking. I tend to have oily skin in summer and found this foundation did a great job at staying matte and controlling the shine for a good 6-8 hours.
Overall I was extremely pleased with this foundation and will definitely be adding it to my regular routine.
Rimmel lasting matte foundation
I like the texture and the Long Jevity of this foundation but I found you had to be ready quick as it dried quite fast which isn’t completely bad especially when your low on time. I did find that depending on my dryness or oily areas is didn’t sit as well or as long.
This foundation is a mousy texture so I was a bit worried about it being too full or heavy at first but it was surprisingly lightweight.
But it was still heavier texture than the foundation I normally use so I didn’t use the concealer at all to avoid a cake up.
Because of the mousy texture, it was easy to layer up to cover my freckles, acne scar and pigmentation.
First 5-6 hours it stayed matt but after that I get oily a bit but it looks very natural. It gives me natural grow and looks healthy.
I also mixed with primer and liquid highlighter to look like a more natural finish.
I use this foundation and then use Australis Fresh & Flawless pressed powder to set.
The tube package is easy to control the amount I want to use and it is also travel friendly.
Thumbs up from me!
I was pleasantly surprised with this foundation! I have oily and sensitive skin and it has been great. From putting it on easily as its got a really silky consistency. It blends well and has a really natural finish. My skin keep its Matte finish with this foundation where others usually go super oily. Thumbs up from me :)
Rimmel London Long Lasting Foundation
This smooth mousse foundation was great to use, as it was very easy to apply, even without using a sponge! The coverage was great and to be honest you dont need to use alot, given its a matte finish.
Given that my skin is oily, this was great to balance it out and lasted all day.
Highly recommend just adding a setting powder on top very lightly.
Not bad at all!
I was really excited to try this foundation as I'd heard some great things about its staying power. I have combination skin and can sometimes find foundations a bit oily or that they require touch-ups though the day. I applied this over the top of my daily moisturiser and it had a pleasantly light texture. I had to dab on some powder in the late afternoon, but otherwise did not have to touch it all day! Definitely recommend this in combination with a mattifying powder for an all-day look which won't budge.
This might be my new fave foundation!
I had the opportunity to trial this product and was so glad that I did. I received this foundation in the shade 203 True Beige. At first I thought it was a little dark maybe even too pink for me based on the colour shown on the outside of the package. But when squeezing it out it was a lighter shade and matched my tone well. This foundation glides on and spreads so easily. A little nervous at first because I thought it was going to make my skin even more oilier. Thankfully it dried down to a soft powdery feel and stayed matte for the day. Coverage was even and didn’t feel caked. Pleasantly surprised by this foundation.
I have normal to dry, fair skin. I chose this product in the lightest shade, warm porcelain, and it was very light. Too light for me (which is probably good for fairer people than me!). I didn't love this product, I found it looked a bit crusty and wore off during the day. The texture was a nice, whipped texture and blended nice. It would be very important to prime and moisturise well before use Overall, I probably won't use it again.
I was lucky enough to receive the Rimmel lasting Matte foundation as a part of the review crew. I received the product in shade 103 true ivory which is is great for my pale complexion, ever so slightly darker then me but unnoticeable as long as you take it down the neck. I found this foundation to be truly matte, leaving my skin oil and shine free all day long without needing to blot at all throughout the day. The coverage was also awesome and a little bit of this product can go along way, I love how if you apply lightly my freckles can be still seen through the foundation, but if I apply liberally with a beauty blender you can cover all traces of freckles, pimples or beauty spots. It’s a foundation that really can do whatever you need it to! Last week it was incredibly hot and humid weather and this product portrayed awesome staying power, staying put through all the sweating. It occasionally showed a little bit of movement right at the end of the day around the hairline and nose areas at the end of those really hot sweaty days however given the circumstances it was definitely forgiven. However top ups may be necessary when it is really hot like this. Overall though I really loved this foundation, I am a full coverage matte foundation girl and this Rimmel foundation is definitely my new favourite, much preferred it over the ‘luxury’ brand foundations I’ve tried recently- will definitely be repurchasing!
Nice and velvety!
I am not normally a fan of matte foundations - I am a strong believer that the skin should look dewy and alive, however, I was really surprised that the finish of this foundation was quite nice and “velvety” rather than dry and matte.
I did find that it sunk into my pores on my cheeks and nose, which left a bit of a textured finish. I am also a bit disappointed by the limited shade range, but hopefully they extend this soon.
Could be better
Matte and long lasting, but I'm not 100% sure of product because I had to mix other foundation to colour match.
Pros: Matte, Lasted long (with another foundation mixed in)
Cons: Pathetic shade range, too pricey for a drugstore foundation of its size.
Definitely better foundations out there.
Not good for oily skin! Wouldn't recommend the foundation for oily skin type, it emphasised pores, texture and fine lines.
Normally matte foundation last however after around 4 hours it started to break up and separate even though I had powdered!
It was quite easy to work with when first applied but does dry down pretty fast.
This foundation would be good for someone with normal to dry skin and minimal skin issues.
