Schwarzkopf Brilliance

I had dark brunette hair and always wanted it to permanently be natural black like the colour my hair was when it got wet. The only permanent natural black hair dye on the shelf was Schwartzkopf 90 black. I am no professional hair-colourist. I thoroughly researched how to dye my hair properly and carefully followed the instructions from the box. At first, the dye set to jet black, but when I washed out the excess dye, it became natural black-almost the exact shade that I wanted. The dye made my hair so shiny for quite a long time. The colour was spread pretty evenly. The left side of my hair was a slightly different shade from the right, but it's barely noticeable. There were some accidental caramel and black streaks in my hair. They changed to dark brown, the next day. I don't mind these streaks as they add more character to my hair. My hair was a bit frizzy, but that was easily fixed with stay-in conditioner. My hair will probably fade to a lighter shade, overtime, but I can then add another layer of the same dye to get the colour that I wanted. Also, the dye stains can be easily rinsed off with water or make-up remover. I don't mean to boast, but an amateur hair-dresser could have done just a good job. Saves me hundreds of dollars and the travel. I fell in love with my hair even more ever since I used Schwartzkopf permanent 90 black hair dye. I feel so much more confident and beautiful in my new hair colour like a superstar ready to walk the runway. Those who complained about the product probably didn't apply it properly or take proper care of their hair. Or maybe there is something wrong with their hair. 4 stars, because it wasn't perfect, but still very good. I would definitely recommend to those with dark hair who want to further darknen their hair colour. If that would be you, don't be scared, go on, try it. You probably won't look back. In response to the challenging and unprecedented times COVID has thrown at us, I did what any woman in need of a change when they can't have a holiday would do and dyed my hair red. I used the shade 37, hypnotic red which is quite a rich red shade. In terms of DIY dyes I have done it all, and this is a pretty standard box dye situation. It's easy to use, and comes with everything you need. I needed two boxes to do my shoulder length hair and ensure full saturation, but it is very affordable so that was fine. There were two things that I am not keen on with this product. The first is the shade is very flat and one dimensional, More so than with other box dyes I have used. The second is that is does not stay in the hair, I found that it has faded very quickly and transfers onto fabrics sfter I wash my hair. I have to be very cautious to ensure I don't ruin any clothes or linen. Overall I think this has been fun for zoom calls and it was easy to use, but I will be trying alternatives before I repurchase this.

Great at home colour to use in between salon visits. I went with a very dark brown shade and it got rid of my few greys nicely and also softened my hair so well. I got about 8 weeks use before my greys started coming through, but again perfect to use as a touch up colour in between salon visits. Great price point and readily available at all supermarkets and pharmacies.

got rid of the greys for me, my hair felt soft and manageable... I have issues with our water and my hair turns green - this is a necessary item for me and it works for me very well it lasts well maybe a couple of months which is great for hair coloured at home. then I can change the shade and go again very easily and low cost when it suits me
