This is a orange-y clay mask with additions of Rosehip oil, Shea Butter and Vit E. It's not too harsh and drying and would suit people with skin that isn't too dry or too oily. I'm not sure if it is the citrus or lavender oil in the formula, but it does sting my face a little especially around the sides of the nose, which makes it a less relaxing experience, even though texture-wise it is quite nice and not too drying. I just wish the essential oils could be omited. I won't be re-purchasing :(
The clay mask is a deeply cleansing and nourishing mask which I enjoy using.
It comes in a round container and you only need small bits- probably 15 mls to cover your face. I found I need to apply it quite quickly- but its easy to apply and spread before it dries too quickly. On application to the skin the pinky clay mask starts to dry hard and turn a darker shade of pink- almost red. The clay mask dries very hard onto your skin and it takes around 15 minutes to fully dry. As the mask is a clay mask to remove I found I need quite alot of warm water and a flannel to thoroughly remove the mask and all the bits.
Post using this mask I really felt that my skin felt so clean and deeply cleansed. Post use, my skin was thoroughly cleansed and it looked radiant.
My skin also feels quite soft and smooth post use- which is great for a deeply cleansing mask. It removes all the imputies and blemishes- decreases these and helps to rid my skin of these. The aloe vera and rose hip oil help to really nature and refresh the skin.
After use my skin can look abit red but this does fade and I have to admit my skin looks a little more radiant- which is the point of masks in my opinion.
I really like this mask- its one of the best masks I've used for combination skin. My combination skin is given a nice fresh deep down clean, but it also leaves my skin soft and smooth, while providing hydrating ingredients.
Personally I like this mask for me- Its a good balance of cleansing yet hydrating ingredients that gives my skin a fresh smooth radiant glow.
Having sensitive skin this mask is everything I need it to be. There are no hidden chemicals and is made from all natural products. It has a fresh and relaxing smell of rosemary. It is a thick mask and I recommend using a foundation brush to apply it evenly. I didn't experience any itching or burning while using this product and it left my skin feeling soft, clean and rehydrated. The tub is huge and the Mask doesn't dry out or separate so the product is good to use over a whole year. I always keep a tub of this in my bathroom ready for those PJ pamper nights with my girlfriends.
This face mask worked fine on my skin. It made my skin feel soft, refreshed and renewed.
I have very oily skin, and I found this very gentle. It wasn't enough to be what I need face masks to be. I didn't notice that much of a difference, and what I did notice didn't last more than a few hours.
It works well, but I think it would work even more amazingly on someone with dry skin.
This clay mask is natural based without any nasties. Because is so gentle on my sensitive combination skin with huge pores, I leave it longer than required. After cleansing the face and patting dry I apply layer of this mask on. Then leave it on why doing my house chores. When the mask gets a bit dry I mist it with rosewater or springwater to "reactivate" and moisten the formula. So the mask would be up to one hour on (I started with only 15 minutes, but found that this works so great for my skin!). After rinsing it off, my skin is so super soft and incredibly clean without being stripped (due to the natural oils in the formula). The hydration is also there (and I have dehydrated skin usually), which is unusual after I use other brands of clay masks. The scent is subtle vanilla and the tub lasted me for months! Of regular use. Love Sukin, and repurchased this mask already.
This is a great mask! It is gentle on the skin and does what it needs to do. I did not feel that the mask dried out my skin and it gave a nice clean skin finish. The only thing I did notice that it didn't really clean out pores and congestion on the skin. I enjoy that there are no nasty chemicals in Sukin products and their products are paraben free. I did use the bottle but I have found other skin masks to work better for congestion etc.
An Australian, organic skin care brand, I purchased from the pharmacy.
nice scent-almond/vanilla smell
soothing on the skin
refreshing and leave skin feeling soft
easy to remove
easily accessible and good price point
generous amount of product
for people with dry skin, I would recommend avoiding or use for less time than specified
Sukin's Purifying Face Mask is for any skin types that needs their skin to feel refreshed but also nourished as well.
I love the scent of this face mask, it's very natural and botanical. It's inviting and I defintely want to apply this face mask on my face.
The texture is creamy. I wait for the face mask to dry before washing it off.
It leaves my skin feeling very refreshed, nourished and my skin looks brighten and I almost feel like I am glowing.
I love this face mask and I would recommend it for any skin types.
This is my first Sukin purchase and whilst I'm not overwhelmed and a fan just yet it won't be my last as I like the simplicity and philosophy of the brand, it seems to be good value and I'm keen to give them a go. Buy Aussie and all that.
The product itself is ok. I don't hear angels sing and no one mistakes me for my daughters sister or anything ( does such a product exist? I want gallons of it!) but for the price point it does ok.
The quantity and price is right, especially when it's often on sale at my beloved Priceline. The jar is easy to open and I scoop enough out with clean fingers and apply straight to my skin, leaving on for about 15 minutes.
I like the light fragrance and cool feeling as I apply and it feels like a mini pamper (as I wash the dishes or hang out the washing) but I don't notice any real results.
I remove with a warm washer and finish my skin care routine as usual.
It's been years since I've used masks so maybe my expectations are wrong, or maybe I just need to try something else!
I'll finish the jar but I'm unlikey to repurchase.
I'll give Sukin another go though. I hear good things about the toner!
Having acne prone skin I'm always on the lookout for new face masks to add to my ever growing collection. After trying a sample of the Glam Glow SuperMud Clearing Mask I fell in love - however, the price and the fact that the brand is owned by a company who tests on animals I was on the lookout for a product that gave a similar pore-cleansing and tightening effect. Sukin is a personal favourite skincare brand for me being that it is all natural and against animal testing and so I decided to put this mask to the test.
Upon first use of the mask the bright burnt orange colour of it gave me a it of a shock, and be warned it can get messy. However, it won't stain your clothes and will come out straight away in the wash luckily. I apply a generous amount all over my face and down my neck (as i tend to get acne there too) when using it. I leave it on for around 15-20 minutes and in this time it will set completely and dry out. Be careful though, if you leave it on for too long it will flake off and gets extremely messy. I then wash it off with a warm face cloth and wash my face with water. My skin is immediately noticeably softer and less irritated, with any red spots of my face dramatically calming down. My pores are also less noticeable as the mask removes a lot of impurities that get trapped in them. After using this mask twice every week for around three months I have to say that I have noticed a definite improvement in my skin, particularly the pores around my t-zone. They really have reduced in size over time.
Overall, I love this mask and think that it is a great dupe for the Glam Glow mask, and at a fraction of the cost you can't go wrong! i would recommend this for more normal to oily skin types as this mask may be too drying for those with already dry skin.
I enjoy using Sukin products - it's an Australian brand, always very affordable, their formulas are all natural and are very skin-friendly.
This is a generous 100mls size for around $16. With around 10 uses per jar, that's also it's also nice & easy on the purse.
This face mask is perfect for combination skin like mine, and I was very happy to notice that I had no irritation in my t-zone (which does react to plenty of other face masks).
It's applied to damp skin, and is a medium thickness, red/brown colour that reminds me of outback Australia. There's a modest scent initially that I could barely notice while the mask was on.
I found it applies easily, feels very comfortable on, and to my delight also removes with ease - a very nice change from other purifying masks I've tried that are a challenge to remove properly. This removes so quickly and easily in contrast!
Though it states 'All Skin Types" on the jar, I feel it's most beneficial for normal, combination or oily skin. Dry skin types should steer clear.
It leaves my combination skin feeling smooth & less oily, plus my pores seem smaller and less noticeable. I'm finding regular use has been very beneficial. Highly recommended, this is a real favourite mask for me.
This masque makes your skin feel so supple after use and helps to get rid of impurities. I use it once a week and helps to get that glow on your skin again! Don't use for more than 10-15 minutes though as leaving on too long can start to dry our your skin
I really like all of Sukin's products - they're all no-frills, simple and great value for money - but this mask let me down a bit. There's nothing wrong with it per-se, and it does leave my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated, but it doesn't seem to have the oomph-factor of other masks on the market at a similar price point.
It's a thick, orange mask with a fresh scent. It applies easily (best to apply with a brush for even application). It feels cool and refreshing, and doesn't dry out or crack like other masks do. Skin feels refreshed and hydrated afterwards, but that's about it - it feels great, but doesn't offer much in the way of skin changes. However, the simplicity of the mask and the lack of active changes might make it good for people with super sensitive or reactive skin (I'm quite sensitive and there were definitely no adverse effects in that regard). I'll still keep using this in my weekly masks routine, but I doubt I'll repurchase once it's finished. Not so much disappointed as underwhelmed - you could do worse than this mask, but you could also do better.
