I love sheetmasks, and I love anything hydrating so when I saw the new Burt’s Bees Hydrating Sheet Mask I picked up a few because it seemed like a no-brainer. Here’s the thing- it didn’t do anything. It wasn’t a relaxing experience, the serum was a strange consistency that didn’t penetrate my skin, and there didn’t seem to be much product at all. Upon finishing my face felt no different except a little tacky.
I like the results I get from sheet masks but I hate having them on my face for 15-20 minutes which is the normal time frame for masks. These were on sale so I picked up one of these. The sheet itself is thick and feels almost quilted. It is not the best sheet at all, it kept falling off in parts of my face and unlike many other sheet masks, was a little dry but dripped at the same time - strange I know, but it seemed that there wasn't enough serum on the actual sheet to keep it on my face, especially given that the sheet was a bit on the thicker side. The smell reminded me a bit of baby wipes, not great. The best thing I like about this mask only needs 5 minutes. While admittedly it was a pretty uncomfortable 5 minutes, the results after taking the mask off were surprisingly good. My face looked much more refreshed, plumper and hydrated. Also really liked that the mask is 99% natural. I am a bit on the fence about this, the actual experience of having the mask on was a bit of a fail but the results were actually good. I'd recommend grabbing one of these when they're on sale.
I suddenly found that I was without any sheet masks - I usually have a few  ready in my cabinet, which I alternate with cream or fluid masks, because I like to use a mask at least once per week. So a quick shopping trip was in order and I picked up a few  affordable brands. I had never tried a Burt's Bees mask or any of their skin care actually, but I had seen them mentioned and thought the packaging was cute as well. I chose the Hydrating Sheet mask with Clary Sage, basically because this was the only mask that seemed suited for my drier skin. The other masks were Detoxifying and Purifying which I thought might be a little strong. This sheet mask promised to instantly moisturize and improve skin texture, with Kiwi Fruit water, Willow bark and clary sage extracts as active ingredients. I waited until I could relax in a bath, first cleansed with Avene Micellar Water and then Rustic Peppermint gentle clay wash. Then I was ready for the sheet mask  - I unfolded it carefully from the sachet and was surprised that it wasn't at all slippery to handle because it wasn't actually a very "wet" mask. It wasn't too flimsy, so easy to open and position over my face without tearing.  Almost immediately I felt a slight heat in my cheeks, not enough to feel uncomfortable, but certainly something to notice. I settled down to wait for the 5 minutes, then peeled it off. I'm glad it is an express-style mask because sometimes it can be hard to keep track of time for 15 minutes or so.  I found it odd that they suggested massaging excess product into the skin, because really there was nothing left, no serum or fluid at all! I usually do enjoy absorbing all the moisture in a mask - I love any extra hydration I can get. Sadly I did not feel the hydration after this mask, my skin didn't feel taut but neither did it feel velvety as I usually notice after a mask. I noticed that my cheeks were pink which is often a sign that a product doesn't agree with me. I inspected the package - nothing obvious in the ingredients, but willow bark I see has some astringent properties so perhaps this has disagreed with me?  I wanted to like this mask - it is affordable, from the Burt's Bees brand that promotes natural beauty, it is cruelty-free (Yay!) and contains no parabens, petroleum or other nasties. But regretfully it is not for me, so can't buy this particular mask again.
I've always been a sucker for a good sheet mask and I'm loving the way this one makes my skin feel. I don't use it often, only maybe once every two weeks, but it leaves my skin feeling extra hydrated and soft. I only leave it on for about 5 minutes before peeling it off and in that short amount of time, my skin has already begun to feel velvety soft and smooth. I feel like sheet masks are an instant pick-me-up, they really do improve your skin in such a short amount of time. With this mask, you won't have to worry about dry skin or flaking again. The price is very reasonable, and ensures you can use it often. Highly recommend!
I was really intrigued by this face mask because it is said to contain clary sage which helps to balance your skin's natural pH level. After trying this for the first time, I noticed that it provided good moisture, was soft and gentle, and didn't irritate my skin. Having used it once every couple of weeks for a few months now, I've noticed that my skin is a lot softer and more hydrated, and doesn't get dry or flaky anymore. This is a huge benefit for me in the wintertime, so I will be repurchasing these for sure.  In terms of balancing pH, I'm not too sure if it does that. But it definitely moisturises and makes your skin feel softer. It is also really easy to use and doesn't take as long as most other masks do. Instead of the classic 15-20 minutes, Burts Bees say that only 5 minutes is enough. Love this for when I'm travelling and don't have much time to spend on skincare. I would recommend this to anyone looking to add a little extra into their skincare, but don't want to spend a crazy amount. This would also be lovely for people with dry or sensitive skin.
