Red eyeshadow is the latest beauty trend and it’s coming in HOT from the red carpet

Red Eyeshadow Is 2019’s Latest Breakout Beauty Trend

Just ask Margot Robbie, Lena Dunham and Katherine Langford

Red isn’t a colour we’d ordinarily expect to see on eyelids but we’ve just spotted it on not one, but three celebs on the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood UK premiere red carpet and if that’s not a sure sign of an incoming trend, we don’t know what is!

Considering auburn eyeshadow has proven itself to be one of 2019’s biggest breakout makeup trends, the progression to the slightly more dramatic shade of red does kinda make sense.

And if these looks on the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood red carpet are anything to go by, it seems the trend is not only 100 per cent wearable in real life, but also very versatile – as you’ll see.

Margot Robbie, Katherine Langford and Lena Dunham all stepped out in different interpretations of the red eye makeup trend, ranging from Lena’s sheer wash of colour to Katherine’s subtle yet strong burgundy winged liner and Margot’s intensely pigmented red ombré eyeshadow look.

Check it out:

Lena Dunham

Lena’s eye makeup might not stand out as vividly as Margot and Katherine’s, but look closely and you’ll be seeing red. Like the rest of Lena’s makeup look, her interpretation of the red eyeshadow trend was very understated with a very pale wash of red swept across her eyelids. Her makeup was otherwise kept very minimal - save for generous lashings of black mascara. So pretty!

Katherine Langford

Red eyeliner isn’t a look we would have thought to try previously, but after seeing Katherine in this exquisite eye look, we know what shade of liquid eyeliner we’ll be buying next. Katherine’s blue eyes were accentuated in this unusual winged eyeliner look thanks to the pretty burgundy shade with pinkish undertones. Her lower lash line was also lightly lined in the same shade to polish the look off nicely.

Margot Robbie

Margot’s eyeshadow is so dramatic that it looks almost theatrical and we’re utterly in love. She went for an ombré-like eyeshadow look that began with an intensely pigmented red eyeshadow at the inner corners of her eyes and graduated to a deeper burgundy shade towards the outer corners. We love how her eyeshadow was then delicately blended out towards her brow bone to prevent it from looking OTT. For added definition, note the deep purple eyeliner along her lower lash line which was blended up into a smoky cat eye. Stunning!

Margot Robbie wore another unusual yet stunning eyeshadow look on the red carpet at last week’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood premiere in Los Angeles. Check out her tangerine eye makeup here.
