“I tried this multitasking mascara and it’s one of the best ones I’ve used”

Find out why it’s our beauty writer’s new Holy Grail

You’d think with all the many, many mascaras out there, it would be a breeze to find ‘The One’. But I’ll be honest, my list of criteria is quite extensive. A one-trick mascara just doesn’t cut it for me. I need a multitasker. One that will volumise, plump and lengthen lashes while actually taking care of them. Sounds like some kind of fantasy, right?

Well, I’ve actually found a real goodie that not only makes my lashes look good on ALL levels, but also has added ingredients that made my lashes healthier.

I’m talking about my new bestie - Max Factor Volume Infusion Mascara. Besides killing it on the lash lengthening and volumising front, this gem is formulated with lash-loving ingredients like keratin (a protein that's naturally found in hair) and biotin (a plant cell extract), which work overtime to protect and nourish those precious lash hairs to keep them healthy and shiny. Yep – it ticks all the boxes.

Here’s what I love most about it.

#1/ It strengthened my lashes

After a few rounds of eyelash extensions, my lashes aren’t exactly in the best shape, so I was ecstatic to learn this multitasking formula was full of nourishing ingredients that would help repair and rebuild my lashes. Keratin in the formula helped to protect and strengthen my lashes, while biotin works to stimulate lash growth over time. Growing my eyelashes while simply wearing mascara? Yeah, I’m into it.

#2/ It’s not just volumising – it made my lashes longer, too

While the mascara in no doubt adds extra volume to my lashes, I found that it also did a solid job on the lengthening front. In fact, after a couple of coats it feels like I’ve sprouted some brand-new lashes – they appear so long and luscious that I can feel them touch my brow bone when I look up!

#3/ The formula is buildable, but not clumpy

If you’re anything like me, one swipe of mascara is never enough. But I often find that when I’m building up for a fuller flutter, it ends in clumpy lashes with lots of fallout. This was one of the things I loved most about this mascara - the soft fibre brush perfectly separated my lashes so that I could apply that second, third (or even fourth!) coat with ease. To my delight, this mascara actually stayed on my lashes – the flakes are next-to-none and it *actually* lasts until you decide to take it off.
