Samantha Harris' go-to tricks for looking good in photos
4 model-approved tips you need to try
If there’s anyone that knows about getting her photo taken, it’s Samantha Harris. After placing as a finalist in Girlfriend’s Model Search at the age of 13, her modelling career took off, walking for top designers like Alex Perry and Lisa Ho and being featured in numerous fashion campaigns. She’s even previously landed a cover for Australian Vogue. Here, she shares her best tips for looking great in front of a camera.
Samantha’s best tip is to look at the camera at a three-quarter angle. “I’ve got a round face, so I feel like it has more shape if I’m looking at the camera slightly from the side,” she says.
Keep in mind the position of your chin as well. “I prefer chin down for myself. I guess it just depends on the person and what they prefer.”
What you wear on your face can also influence how good your photo will turn out. “I’ve got dark hair and brows, so I veer away from wearing dark eyeshadows,” says Samantha. As for her favourite product? “I love highlighter so much, especially NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator which gives me a nice dewy and natural look.”
Don’t forget about the rest of your body too. “Place one hand on your hip to give yourself more shape.” Then, place your body weight on the leg of the same side.
Samantha Harris will soon be on the road for the Girlfriend Priceline Model Search. Want to take part? Head here to find out more, or head to the following locations to enter.
