There is no denying that Shay Mitchell and celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta are a match made in beauty heaven. The pair have teamed up on numerous occasions to create makeup looks that have ranged from bronzed and glowing to colourful and sultry, and we honestly can’t get enough of them.

That’s why we were so delighted when we saw that Ta had posted on his Instagram another makeup masterpiece he’d created on Shay over the weekend. This time the look was dark and vampy, featuring a dramatic smoky eye and deep purple, almost black lip. Perfect for Halloween!

The best thing? Ta also shared the exact products he used to create the edgy look.

On the eyes Ta used the Burgundy Palette from Kylie Cosmetics and started by blending a taupe eyeshadow on the lid before smudging a darker brown onto the upper and lower lash line. He then added a touch of gold liner from Colour Pop Cosmetics before finishing the look off with long wispy false lashes by House Of Lashes.

The look was then topped off with a stunning bold lip, achieved with MAC Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in High Drama. Shay did mention in her caption for the image on her own Instagram that “eating or drinking anything but red wine is impossible with this lip,” so you might want to carry some drinking straws with you to make sure you don’t mess up your look!

Although we’re heading straight into the summer months here in Australia, Shay’s autumn/winter inspired look has us eager for the end of the month when we can don a dark makeup look for Halloween.

Want to follow Shay’s lead but are unsure exactly how to nail it? Here’s everything you need to know for mastering a dark lip.
