She’s going for gold

Olympian and all around bad b*tch, Simone Biles, may be known for cutting some serious shapes as a four-time Olympic gold medalist gymnast but it appears her penchant for gold goes beyond her efforts on the mat.

In a recent interview with Vogue US, the cover star revealed the ins and outs of her go-to makeup look for competing, starting with a metallic shadow from Pat McGrath Labs.

“For competition, I usually go for a gold look… I just kind of slap it on there,” she told the publication. She then completes the look with a winged cat eye using Fenty Beauty liquid liner and Marc Jacobs volumising mascara.

When it comes to complexion Biles keeps it natural, using two shades of Westman Atelier’s cream blush on her cheeks only, and nothing but her “best friend” Carmex lip balm for her lips. See Simone’s full tutorial on how to get the look below:

When it comes to competing though, Simone says makeup is the last thing on her mind, “It does not matter what you look like going into a competition, does makeup make me feel better? Yes. But it’s what I do out there on the floor that really, really matters,” she said.
