The bizarre trick to achieve glowing skin without makeup

And it'll take only 3 minutes out of your day

Summer is officially upon us (hooray!). And with the rise in temperature comes the inevitable rise in popularity of luminous makeup looks that radiate a glow from every angle.

While everyone covets a lit-from-within glow at this time of year, achieving the look can be a tad difficult as our skin recovers from the beating it took during the winter months (think constantly being exposed to cold air, wind and heating). Luckily, celebrity aesthetician, Renée Rouleau spoke to Allure and revealed a bizarre, but genius trick to reenergise our dry and dull skin, to leave it instantly illuminated and subtly flushed. All without the need for a single makeup product.

Ready?

According to Rouleau all you need to do is “hang your head upside down for three minutes per day. Simple, right?! You can do this up against a wall – as I do at CrossFit or during a downward dog in yoga – or by simply hanging your head over the side of your bed,” Rouleau suggests. The skin is then left with a rosy flush without the need for blush or bronzer.

For those thinking that all you’ll be left with is a red face, fear not, as dermatologist Amy Wechsler says, “the redness subsides in a few seconds, but the glow stays for a while.” It’s an unusual trick to say the least but if it delivers an instant glow without the need to layer product upon product onto our skin, we’re all for it.
