The mascara that can give you a false lash look

Without the hassle of getting lash extensions

The product

Look no further if you’re after a dramatic, false lash look using only mascara. L’Oréal Paris False Lash X-Fiber Mascara is a dual-sided product that works to prime and volumise lashes in just a few swipes. For best results, apply the black primer to thicken bare lashes, then use the other side to coat lashes in fibres that  increase lash length.

Our panel of Review Crew® testers put the entire range to the test.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent L’Oréal Paris False Lash X-Fiber Mascara to a panel of women aged between 25 and 54 who are looking for a dramatised and excessive lash look. Some of these women wear false lashes or get lash extensions, while others admit to being too afraid to try them.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about L’Oréal Paris False Lash X-Fiber Mascara:

How the product delivered results: Review Crew® members loved that the product could lengthen, boost volume and thicken bare lashes in two steps. Members also mentioned that the formula did not smudge throughout the day.

The colour of the product: Members liked that the product was a deep black shade that looked striking against their natural eye colour.

How practical the product was: Reviewers praised the mascara for being a two-in-one product that featured a primer and fibre-based formula that was easy to use.

The verdict

"I like the fact that you can just use the primer for a more natural look, or pump up the volume with both steps if you want a more dramatic effect. Very impressed, will definitely buy this mascara again."

"I have been searching for a good drugstore mascara and I have finally found it! I haven't used a two step mascara before but now that I have I can't live without it."

"The black primer is an advantage and it wore well throughout the day. My eyelashes looked fuller, thicker and longer. The two in one is practical. I would definitely recommend this product to others."

The product

To complement the L’Oréal Paris False Lash X-Fiber Mascara, the Review Crew® panel were also sent the L’Oréal Paris Super Liner Superstar to try.

One of the most effective ways to define your peepers is with a liquid eyeliner. L’Oréal Paris Super Liner Superstar features a flexible tip that moves with the contours of your eyes as you use it and dries to a shiny finish.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about L’Oréal Paris Super Liner Superstar:

The design of the product: Members liked that the product’s tip was flexible and firm at the same time, making it easy to apply any eyeliner look.

How the product didn’t smudge: Review Crew® members liked that the product did not smudge throughout the day, and yet it was easy to remove with makeup remover at night.

The verdict

"I would normally use a pencil liner, so I was a little dubious trying out this liquid liner, but I found that it was excellent. It did not smudge, or cause a reaction, which I can be prone to, and it made a great cat-eye (after I practiced a bit!)."

"I'm not a confident user of eyeliner however this product was nearly foolproof to use. It glided on with ease, the line was fine with a good colour. The tip was fine with just the right movement. I really enjoyed using this product and I highly recommend this for the novice."
