The masks that promise to transform your skin in just 10 minutes

L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Mask

Here’s what our Review Crew® thought of the brightening and pimple-fighting masks

Beauty Crew Beauty Writer / April 02 2018

The product

The easiest way to instantly transform your skin and make it appear brighter, smoother, clearer or more hydrated than it was 10 minutes before is to apply a face mask. Two masks that promise to do all that and more are the L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Anti-Blemish Mask and L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Detoxifying + Brightening Mask. The anti-blemish mask works to reduce the appearance of blackheads and blemishes while tightening pores and soothing the skin. Alternatively, the brightening mask works to detoxify the skin’s surface, while drawing out impurities and blackheads to leave the skin looking bright and healthy.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent the L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Anti-Blemish Mask and L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Detoxifying + Brightening Mask to women aged between 18 and 34 of all skin types who were looking for a face mask that would transform their skin in just 10 minutes.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about the L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Anti-Blemish Mask:

How well it cleared blemishes: The number one thing most testers loved about the anti-blemish mask was how effectively and quickly it reduced the size of their pimples. Additionally, many were surprised at how significantly the mask reduced their redness in a matter of days.

How effectively the formula tightened pores: Not only did reviewers comment on how smooth the mask left their skin feeling after use, they also loved that their pores appeared smaller both immediately after washing the formula off and the next morning when they woke up.

How soothed skin felt after use: Many testers were worried the clay mask would leave their skin feeling dry and stripped, however the majority of reviewers actually commented on how soft and healthy-looking the mask left their skin.

The verdict

“This mask is amazing! I have been using it twice a week and so far the results have been great! My skin condition has definitely improved: my skin is smoother, more hydrated and my redness has reduced. For its price point, you definitely get a lot of product and one tub can last a long time as you don’t need much with each use.”

“I could not have received this [at a] more perfect time because I had a big breakout the day I received the anti-blemish mask and a big event coming up. So I applied a thin layer and let it sit for about 20 minutes. When I got up the next morning the pores around my nose, which are usually fairly noticeable, were considerably smaller and my blemishes were smaller and less red and angry-looking. This is an A+ product in my book and I will 100 per cent keep using it!”

“I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. I tend to get some redness and blemishes on my cheeks and chin so when I noticed these were disappearing with continued use, I knew I was on to a winner. I saw a visible reduction in my pores and the spots on my face. It's great value for money, does exactly what it says, looks amazing on (love the colour) and the smell is super relaxing.”

In addition to the anti-blemish mask, our Review Crew® testers also received the L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Detoxifying + Brightening Mask.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Detoxifying + Brightening Mask:

How luminous it left skin: Rejuvenated, bright and cleansed…those are just some of the words testers used to describe how their skin felt after washing off the brightening mask. Other reviewers also loved how long their skin continued to look luminous for, with many commenting that the results lasted for days.

How smooth and soft skin felt after use: One of the biggest compliments members had of the brightening mask was how soft and smooth skin felt after use. One tester claimed her skin felt as soft as a baby’s bum!

How the mask doubled as an exfoliator: In addition to the mask’s brightening effects, members loved how the formula’s tiny granules gently exfoliated their skin when washing the mask off.

The verdict

“The mask left my face feeling fresh, brighter and cleansed. Its grainy texture also doubles as an exfoliator, which was a bonus. I've been using this mask in my skin care routine once a week for a deep cleanse; I can’t imagine my routine without [it] now.”
