A $20 BB cream and $15 mascara? Yes please

Whenever an A-lister shares their skin care or makeup routine, it often features a lot of fancy buys with high price tags. And who can blame them? If we had the extra dollars on hand, our bathroom would be a luxury label paradise.

It does mean, however, that when celebrities do share the budget beauty buys they use, we’re immediately convinced they must be damn good. After all, why else would they pass up a premium, high-end pick for something that costs a crisp $20?

And while even Hailey Bieber’s skin care routine features one or two affordable products and Margot Robbie’s go-to lip balm is only $10, we were delightfully surprised when model Taylor Hill shared her makeup routine on Instagram and not one, not two, but four products featured cost less than $30.

Here’s everything the 25-year-old used to create a fresh face.

L'Oréal Magic Skin Beautifier Anti-Redness BB Cream

We’re guessing Hill might be a TikTok fan, as her base of choice was the green L’Oréal BB Cream that recently went viral on the platform. The budget pick applies as a pale mint colour, which adheres to the skin tone once blended to neutralise redness. It’s both satisfying to watch and wallet-friendly.

NYX Professional Makeup Colour Correcting Concealer Palette

To conceal under the eyes, Hill selected the peach-coloured tone from this NYX palette. The shade is ideal for counteracting darkness and Hill blended it flawlessly using her fingers.

NARS The Multiple

The most expensive product in the model’s lineup is at least a very versatile one. Hill applied NARS The Multiple in what we’re presuming is the popular shade ‘Orgasm’ to the very tops of her cheekbones, temples and nose for a rosy glow all over. If you’re tempted to add to cart and want extra justification, the multitasker can also be used as a lip and eye colour.

Rare Beauty With Gratitude Dewy Lip Balm

Hill kept it simple on the lips with a tinted balm from Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty. It left a wash of nude colour, so we’re going to go ahead and presume it was in the shade ‘Thankful’. Despite Rare Beauty now being available in Sephora Australia, it seems this pick hasn’t made it to online stock yet. However, its U.S. price would suggest it’s around $22 AUD.

Le Sourcil Le Crayon Eyebrow Pencil

Hill has some of the best brows in the business. And as it turns out, she has a simple two-step routine for styling them. Step one was this precision eye pencil, which she used to add some hair-like strokes.

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows

For step two of her brow routine, Hill used this tinted brow gel from Charlotte Tilbury. She focused application at the front of the brow making sure they were brushed up and set nicely. If we had to guess, we’d say it was in the shade ‘Dark Brown’.

Maybelline Lash Sky High Mascara

Taking cue from TikTok again, Hill finished her fresh makeup look with a few swipes of Maybelline's viral mascara on her lashes. While it’s known for adding serious height and drama, the model kept application pared-back and tame. And in case you missed out back when it sold out, Chemist Warehouse has some fresh new stock for only $15 online.
