Abbie Chatfield refuses to shave until quarantine is over

Because feminism

BEAUTYcrew Beauty Editor / August 31 2020

Although she’s been spending her days inside because of quarantine, it seems Abbie Chatfield is still being held to pre-COVID beauty standards by men on the Internet and she’s not having a bar of it.

The Bachie star shared a truly glorious rant to her Instagram stories where she lovingly strokes her unshaven limbs on camera while firmly talking to her audience, “at this late stage, I’m not shaving my legs until I’m out of quarantine. Why? Because why would I?”.

She also included a powerful message to cap off the vid, calling out the hypocrisy of men for attacking her for not shaving her hair despite it being perfectly acceptable for them to keep theirs: “Hope all men can deal with that!!!! God forbid I don’t exist to please you!!!! God forbid I follow the exact same grooming standards as you have your whole life!!!!”.

And honestly, amen sister! Quarantine has been hard enough without having to worry about if we’re all staying hairless enough to still be considered ‘socially acceptable’.

She ended the message on a light note however, choosing to not let the haters get to her, and instead called herself out for some quality quarantine binge-watching, “ And yes that is Real Housewives of Potomac in the background. Yes Giselle!”

Abbie’s leg hairs are nothing compared to her co-stars glow-ups. These are the best beauty transformations from The Bachelor franchise.

Briar Clark got her start in the media industry in 2017, as an intern for Marie Claire and InStyle. Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
