The blow-drying hack every girl with curly hair needs to know

Curly Hair Blow Drying Hack

This might be just what your curls have been waiting for

Those with curly hair are all too aware of the struggles involved with styling their tresses, with many forgoing brushing altogether because doing so leaves their ‘do looking decidedly boofy rather than beautifully bouncy.

However, keeping your curls tight and frizz-free might be more achievable if a genius blow-drying hack we stumbled upon is to be believed.

The hack was brought to our attention when beauty blogger Huda Kattan shared a video of another blogger, Gilan Sharfani (who goes by gilmakeup on her Instagram and Youtube channels) blow-drying her hair with the help of a sieve (yes, the very tool you would use to sift flour when baking). Apparently it mimics the benefits of a extra large diffuser. Genius!

In the video, naturally curly-haired Gilan starts with damp hair and drops large sections of hair into the kitchen tool before blasting them with air from below. Essentially, the sieve works like a classic diffuser by allowing hair to circulate more effectively around the curls, creating an air-dried effect that maintains the integrity of the curl.

If you’re still a little unsure as to how it works, watch the video below:

While we haven’t tried this trick out for ourselves, Gilan’s results are seriously impressive. So, if you have curly hair and are looking for a quick hair hack you haven’t tried before, this one is perfect for you.

However, if you're not convinced about Gilan's sieve blow-drying hack and would rather use a regular dryer with a diffuser attachment, we recommend trying Remington Salon Professional Hair Dryer, Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer, or Philips DryCare Advanced Dryer.
