The busy girl’s guide to not looking tired

Clever makeup tricks for the time-poor

New Idea / September 22 2016

Time-poor? It’s tricky to look radiant, but makeup guru Napoleon Perdis has the answers for faking eight hours sleep with just a few must-have products. Check out his tips for a glowing makeup look that'll leave you ready to take on the day.

1

Wake up makeup

Be flawless in a flash by applying a BB cream for natural coverage, added moisture, sun protection and a dewy finish – all of which are important for a vibrant look. We love Nivea BB Cream
5 in 1 Beautifying Moisturiser.

2

Heavenly highlights

Cream highlighters, like Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight, add brightness
and are easy to apply with fingertips. Blend it under the hairline of your brow and at the top of your cheekbones.

3

Peepers that pop

Stick with understated matte taupe and brown shadows, such as Napelon Perdis Color Disc in Trench Coat. Avoid warm colours, such as pink,
as they emphasise tired and bloodshot eyes.

4

Lovely lashes

Apply lashings
of black mascara to top lashes only. We love Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara.

5

Brighten dark circles

A cream concealer will freshen under-eye skin and disguise discolouration. Try Nude by Nature Liquid Mineral Concealer.

6

Cheeks that glow

Matte blush in a peach or rose colour, such as Natio Blusher in Peach Glow, flatters and minimises the look of lines.

7

Lip alert

A bold lipstick in pink or red adds pep to
any complexion. Shy of bold tones? Apply colour to the pad of your fingertip first, then press pigment into your lips for a subtle stain. Try Innoxa Classic Colour Lipstick in Wild Cherry.
