There are only a handful brands that elicit a cult-like sense of excitement from the masses because of their refusal to compromise when it comes to price point and efficacy. But the hype is real when this results in hardworking products that deliver what they promise and don’t break the bank.

The Inkey List is one such brand. The UK export are already loved for their hero ingredient formulas, refreshingly uncomplicated approach to skin care and wallet-friendly price points. And now, the brand is venturing into the world of haircare, news which has left us clutching our pearls to say the least.

The range features eight scalp and hair treatments that focus on bringing the ethos of skin care to your haircare regimen, as co-founders Colette Laxton and Mark Curry explained in a recent interview with Allure magazine.

“We're taking the rules that we set for skin, which is that ingredients can have a major impact, and applying them to the scalp," said Laxton. "People's skin care knowledge is really high, but hair-wise, there's less understanding."

Curry agrees, going on to say, "I think hair care now is where skin care was five years ago, you don't just cleanse your face, and you can do more than just shampoo your hair. You can really treat it."

The scalp treatments in the range include a Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Scalp Treatment, an Amino Acid Anti-Gray Scalp Treatment, and Caffeine Stimulating Scalp Treatment. Your strands are promised some extra love too with the hair treatment offerings, which include a Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Hair Treatment, Vitamin C Brightening Hair Treatment, a Peptide Volumizing Hair Treatment, Shea Oil Nourishing Hair Treatment, and a Chia Seed Curl Defining Hair Treatment.

You can join the wait list now on theinkeylist.com, and shop the range starting September 1; we suggest adding the Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Scalp Treatment and Caffeine Stimulating Scalp Treatment to cart immediately.

The pair have proved to be best-sellers already in the UK where the collection has already launched, “in the reviews, people are like 'I've had a flaky scalp for years, and in one use, it's sorted”, says Laxton of the exfoliating salicylic formula. Curry seems less shocked by the popularity of it’s caffeine counterpart though, saying "caffeine does its thing, stimulates the follicles, and makes sure more blood gets to the scalp".

Well there you go, there’s something to look forward to this year.

The road from skin care to hair care is one less travelled. But cult-fave skin care brand Drunk Elephant made the journey, and boy are we glad.
