The idea that your eyebrows have the ability to shape and frame your face isn’t new (in fact, we’ve banged on about it quite a bit in the past!). As such, we’re sure regular trips to have your arches waxed, threaded or tweezed into submission, as well as daily shaping, are simply part and parcel of your beauty routine. However, as with most things in beauty, the world of brow products is changing, with new and innovative formulas constantly hitting shelves. Whether you’re looking to experiment with your signature look or have an upcoming event where power brows are a necessity (Halloween will be here before we know it, after all), we thought we’d share seven of the latest brow products guaranteed to take your arches to the next level.
Benefit Brow Contour Pro
Although gimmicky-looking products are fun to play with, they often don’t deliver the results you’re after. Luckily, Benefit’s latest offering, Brow Contour Pro satisfies on all fronts. With four shades in one handy tool, the pen applicator features a lighter brow shade, deeper brow shade, edge definer and arch highlighter to create multidimensional, clean and shaped brows. “Custom-designed to have the highest colour payoff of all the Benefit brow products, Brow Contour Pro has a pomade-like consistency with pencil application,” explains Benefit’s National Brow Artist, Hannah Mutze. She also notes that while it has been “custom-designed for the creation of contoured brows, the creamy formula lends itself to all brow styles, from natural, to straight, feathered and beyond!”
Amy Jean Brows Privée Collection Brow Veil
If you love brow powders but find they’re a little fiddly and a pain to use when you’re on the go, Amy Jean’s Brow Veil is for you. The small velvet applicator is immersed in a pot of loose powder, which means you have everything you need for a quick and easy application when you’re out and about. The rounded doe-foot applicator also makes creating soft and fluffy-looking brows a breeze.
TOP TIP: Tap off any excess product before use to prevent any fall-out.
shu uemura brow unlimited
While we’ll concede that bright pink (or blue, purple or orange) brows might not be everyone’s cup of tea, shu uemura brow unlimited’s main calling card is its versatility. In addition to adding a pop of colour to your brows, the vibrant gel also doubles as a mascara, making it the perfect multitasking choice for when you want to experiment with your makeup look. The unique twisted applicator also seamlessly blends product throughout hairs without causing any clumping.
L’Oréal Paris Brow Artist Micro Tattoo
Shaped like a professional microblading tool, the L’Oréal Paris Brow Artist Micro Tattoo makes creating hair-like strokes easier than ever. The four-pronged tip mimics the application of microblading by depositing whisper-thin lines of product throughout your brows. The ink formula also promises to last for up to 24 hours without smudging, allowing you to get the microbladed look without the commitment (or hefty price tag).
MAC Shape and Shade Brow Tint
Spruiked as the ultimate all-in-one brow product, MAC’s Shape and Shade Brow Tint is both a brow liner and setting powder. On one end, a liquid brow liner (shaped similar to a traditional liquid eyeliner) effortlessly fills in sparse brows with sheer, buildable colour, while a sponge tip on the other end distributes a tinted powder, shading and setting the entire brow in place for hours of waterproof wear.
Benefit 3D BROWtones Eye Brow Enhancer
Just like coloured mascara has experienced a renaissance recently, so too have coloured eyebrows. But rather than coating brows with a wash of opaque colour, Benefit’s 3D BROWtones Eye Brow Enhancer works by subtly enhancing your arches to help your eye colour to pop. Available in seven shades, Benefit’s sheer, water-resistant gels softly highlight your brows for an understated touch of colour that’s still appropriate during office hours.
TOP TIP: For best results, apply the coloured gel after you’ve shaped your arches with your usual brow products.
MECCA MAX Brow Guru Tinted Gel
Eyebrow gels are commonplace, however, this offering from MECCA MAX is perfect for those who typically find gel applicators too large. Instead of mimicking a mascara wand, the Brow Guru’s rounded spoolie is small enough to ensure a precise and uniform application of gel. The fibre-infused formula isn’t sticky, dries quickly and won’t smudge throughout the day.
