The longwear lipsticks The Veronicas rate for red lip looks

They can leave their lips untouched all damn day

Some may call it wishful thinking (or straight up delusion), but we choose to believe that every single morning, The Veronicas go straight to their makeup mirrors and mutter their own iconic phrase: “here we are, so what you gonna do?”

Plausible? Probs not. But hey, it's the dreamworld we choose to live in. It seems, however, that most times the answer to said question is usually 'a bold lip look'.

Because while both Jess and Lisa like to play up different features from time to time, an appreciation for power pouts is one of the many things they have in common.

“Lis is about brows and lips, and I’m about eyes and lips,” Jess shared with The MECCA Memo earlier this year on the subject of their beauty signatures.

The statement shade they both rate? A bright, bold red. Jess and Lisa happen to share a few favourite formulas, too, naming M.A.C's Lipstick in Ruby Woo and NARS' Velvet Lip Pencil in Red Square as their scarlet lip go-tos.

We couldn't agree more re: the superior status of these two options, either. Ruby Woo (ever heard of it?) deserves every bit of hype it gets; not only is it the perfect shade of blue-red, but it legitimately doesn't budge after a sturdy coat, so it's as reliable as it is ravishing.

As for the NARS option, don't let the name fool you – it might be billed by the brand as a 'lip pencil', but trust us, it's the most velvety crayon you'll ever swipe on (you can thank vitamin E for that).

Basically, it's easy to see why The Veronicas can't forget them. We guess they were going crazy since the moment they met them...
