Here’s what the cast of Hi-5 looks like now

You won’t even recognise some of them!

Content Producer / April 30 2024

Hi-5 was (and will always be) a cult classic Aussie kids TV show. Whether you had Foxtel and could get all the kids TV you wanted or you ran to the free to air Saturday Disney, everyone had one great love in common. Hi-5. With educational teachings, boppy tunes (you can still hear in your mind) and funky fun costumes, the quintet always brought a smile to our small dials.

Throughout the years Hi-5 has had many different cast variations as people grew up and moved on (or not moved on as the case may be). But for us, the classic stars we remember, dressed like, and wanted to be were from the two casts running from 1998 to 2008.

So, let’s see where our childhood favourites are now…

The Original Cast

Charli Robinson

This stunning mum of two hasn’t actually left our screens much over the years. The ever-on-the-go Charli Robinson has taken our hearts from her tinted hair singing and dancing to now giving us enviable travel inspo on Getaway. While Robinson now opts for a more modern cooler-toned lob, she ultimately still looks the same as the sweet broney-toned long wavy-haired singing star we all remember her as.

Tim Harding

While Tim Harding’s infectious smile is as warm as ever, it did take us a minute to recognise him! Now Harding gives off more of a silver fox vibe with a much more cropped salt and pepper cut; a big contrast to the ‘90s-inspired frosted tips and shaggy fringe that he used to rock. Like, did Harding invent wispy bangs?!

Kathleen De Leon Jones

This former star has aged like a fine wine. Having been the first cast member to leave Hi-5 to raise her family, it's unsurprising to see her Instagram feed flooded with (aesthetic) family photos. And while De Leon Jones is no longer in the spotlight, her ever-styled hair suggests her performer days of twisted, pulled, curled and styled strands aren’t so far behind her. These days she opts for a more highlighted chestnut colour than the striking dark browns from her Hi-5 days.

Nathan Foley

Now when we imagine Nathan Foley, we picture the wispy curly-haired owner of the Hi-5 ‘space segment’. But the star has stayed in the music industry and recently launched his own album, all about “celebrating our authentic selves”. And as you can see the once innocent star has launched himself into a much spicer audience. Truly almost unrecognisable, when you get past Foley’s bulging biceps you can see that he now opts to cut his dark hair in a short-yet-shaggy style.

Kellie Crawford

Much like superstar Robinson, Kellie Crawford's hair was the centre for her kooky costumes. Her styling and her educational partnership with ‘Chatterbox’ (or ‘Chats to those in the know) formed most of what we remember from Crawford’s time on the show. Her long blonde hair was mostly styled in an updo and crimped within an inch of its life (remember those old-school crimpers?). Like her co-stars, Crawford's strands were adorned with the 2000s clips we just couldn’t get enough of. These days Crawford’s sleek shorter strands are more of a chicer bronde tone.

Second and Third Line Up Changes:

The first cast change to happen in Hi-5’s eight long years was when De Leon Jones left to (understandably) focus on raising her daughter. The casting directors replaced her with the equally vivacious Sun Park. The second cast change happened after Tim Harding suffered a tragic motor accident and was unable to keep performing. Channel 9 chose to replace Harding with someone who already knew the role well: his understudy Stevie Nicholson.

Sun Park

Stepping into De Leon Jones’ shoes was a big task. Especially with Jup Jup by her side. But Sun Park managed to befriend the five-legged thieving alien like she did the rest of the cast. With her chocolatey-brown tresses almost always half up in mid-2000s chaotic dos, that is! Even though Park stepped away from the spotlight to focus on raising a family, the private star opts to wear her long tousled tresses in a more caramel highlighted tone.

Stevie Nicholson

The ultra-energetic Stevie Nicholson might’ve been a late addition to the Hi-5 OGs, but with his long-running involvement in the show, it makes him the longest serving Hi-5 member. While he might’ve left the show, Nicholson and his now less shaggy but still super styled blonde locks own Superdudes, yet another children’s entertainment group. When you’ve got a calling you’ve got to follow it we guess!

And there we have it, the stars all still remain close, regularly posting their catch ups on Instagram. We’re so glad our childhood friends are still as close-knit as ever.
