Forget a posy of flowers, rose gold accents or an intricate artwork to spice up your home’s interiors; the best way to add character to your home is with a fragrance bottle or two that either makes a statement or complements the mood of your house. Here are six of the latest and greatest fragrances for women and men to have recently hit counters.
Tom Ford Ombré Leather
Matte and black in colour, Tom Ford’s Ombré Leather is a refreshing change from the glossy plinth-like bottles that usually house his beautifully intoxicating scents. Notes like patchouli, vetiver, amber and of course leather can make the scent seem quite masculine, but the welcome addition of jasmine makes it just as suitable for women to wear.
Byredo Eleventh Hour EDP
Trust a Scandi brand like Byredo to house their fragrances in a minimalist bottle that doubles as a stunning understated piece in your home. The brand may be famous for its iconic scents like Super Cedar and Gypsy Water, but we think Eleventh Hour is just as good: there’s pepper and citrus for contrast, tonka bean for longevity, and a generous dose of wild fig to add sweetness without making the scent too feminine.
Narciso Rodriguez Rouge EDP
For something that’ll stand out on your dresser, you can’t go past Narciso Rodriguez Rouge EDP. In true Narciso fashion, the scent is classic and sensual without being gaudy or over the top. Florals like Bulgarian rose and iris meet notes of musk and finishes on a bed of amber and vetiver.
Giorgio Armani Si Passione EDP
Giorgio Armani Si Passione EDP is unapologetically dramatic, both visually and olfactorily. The scent kicks off with spicy pink pepper, then moves into pear and blackcurrant (two unexpected fruits that go really well together), and settles into vanilla and cedarwood. Overall, the scent is memorable and seriously long-lasting, so you only need a single spritz at a time.
Diptyque Tempo EDP
If a ‘60s vibe is more your thing, then reach for Diptyque Tempo EDP, which features an intricate artwork at the front to pay homage to the popular era. It’s also a beautiful scent that heroes patchouli, and is gently layered with maté (a tea-like note), clary sage, bergamot and pink pepper.
Dunhill Century EDP
The interesting shape of Dunhill Century EDP is bound to turn heads in your home. Plus, you’ll fall head-over-heels in love with their masculine scent comprised of bergamot, grapefruit, cardamom, sandalwood, musk and cypriol - a herby green note that awakens the senses.
