9 of the best blonde hair looks from Cannes
It was the hot hair colour of choice on the red carpet

Simply put, blonde hair of all shapes and shades dominated the Cannes Film Festival red carpet this year. While it may not be entirely accessible for everyone (we understand it’s not as easy as popping on a hair accessory!), we totally think it should be on your radar if you’re looking to lighten up your locks.
For those that already have light coloured hair, hairstylist Elyston Hayden recommends keeping your colour looking fresh with this product: “Try a blonde conditioner to expel brassiness; something like Mr Smith Blond this treatment can hydrate, heal and tone hair better than a blonde shampoo can. Apply to damp hair (after you’ve squeezed out excess moisture), leave it on for two minutes and rinse out.”
Here are nine of our favourite blonde hair looks from the event.
Our top pick is Swedish model Elsa Hosk who looked just like a Disney princess on the red carpet. At the screening for The Beguiled, Elsa wore her blonde hair in a deep side part and large cascading waves down her back.
Actress Charlize Theron always goes for a fail-safe hairstyle, and this was no different. At the 70th anniversary event of the Cannes Film Festival, Charlize had her blonde hair parted to one side along with a beachy texture through her mid-lengths and ends.
This hairstyle is something we dream of pulling off for a special event. At the Cannes Film Festival, Toni Garrn wore her blonde hair parted down the middle and slicked back with a shiny gel to keep her hair away from her face.
Nothing says chic and effortless like this hairstyle. At the Cannes Film Festival, Kirsten Dunst wore her medium-length blonde hair in loose, brushed out waves.
While we’re impressed with Nicole’s youthful appearance (we swear she never seems to age a day!), we’re also in love with her blonde hair swept back in a loose braid and finished with a black elastic band. The overall vibe was cool and casual yet still pretty enough for a red carpet event.
Diane Kruger went for texture, texture and more texture in her blonde hair at the Cannes Film Festival. Get the look at home with a sea salt or texturising spray and set the product with a diffuser before using a tong to curl the hair.
The American actress is making a comeback on the red carpet, and we couldn’t be happier. At the Cannes Film Festival, Mischa Barton wore her short honey blonde hair in a deep side part along with loose waves set with a large barrel tong.
