We don’t know about you but the mere mention of winter, and our skin is left looking dry, pallid and blotchy *shudders*.
To counter the grotesque effects of what is categorically, the worst season of all time (or at least as far as our skin is concerned), we’ve rounded up a handful of base products that prep, prime and pep up lacklustre winter skin in a flash. You’re welcome.
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base
Essentially a moisturiser, this deeply hydrating primer features a trio of skin-loving vitamins B, C and E as well as a non-greasy, oil-free formula, meaning you can keep skin nourished and moisturised all day without running the risk of looking like an oil slick. We like this.
GIORGIO ARMANI Designer Essence-In-Balm Mesh Cushion Foundation
If there’s one thing Giorgio Armani does well it’s foundation, and the luxury brand has done it again with their latest, handbag friendly offering. The cushion foundation format houses a formula that combines radiance-boosting electric blue pearls and hollow powders, as well as hydrating hyaluronic acid and glycerin for lasting plumped skin and a dewy glow. Apply in the morning and pop it in your handbag for quick touch ups throughout the day. Sorted.
Kosas Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer
Dark circles may be a year round nuisance but this creamy, hydrating concealer from Kosas delivers effective medium coverage with a caffeine and pink algae-infused formula that’s forgiving on tired AND dry winter eyes. Apply under the eyes, spot conceal, or use in place of your foundation for plump, hydrated skin and a radiant complexion.
FENTY BEAUTY Match Stix Glow Skinstick in Purrrl
Want to achieve the kind of highlight that looks like you’re glowing from the inside out like a translucent human lava lamp? Yep, same. Fenty Beauty has delivered unto us their beloved MatchStix in the magical shade ‘Purrrl’. Once applied to skin, Purrl has a finish like a glossy, classic glaze, Krispy Kreme donut. Mmmmm. It’s best applied using your fingers, to melt the creamy formula into skin and then layer with a powder illuminator if you’re feeling extra.
By Terry Brightening CC Palette
For skin that still looks a little dull, a little red and a little sallow, somehow all at the same time (how does that happen??) even after applying foundation and concealer, this to-die-for face palette is a literal god-send. Combining a radiance-enhancing glow with four colour correcting shades, these brightening powders help to illuminate and correct simultaneously to sculpt and perfect your complexion. You better be quick though, this stunning palette is limited-edition and unfortunately won’t be around to pep up our faces next winter.
