Collating the *best* new beauty launches list each month isn’t the easiest task, that’s for sure. As for August? This was one of the toughest months because there were so many amazing new releases hitting shelves. Get your credit cards ready… here are the new beauty products we can’t get enough of this month.
Yves Saint Laurent Beauté All Hours Foundation Stick
If you’re obsessed with Yves Saint Laurent’s All Hours Foundation as much as we are (it even received a whopping four-and-a-half stars from our Review Crew® last year!), then you’ll be excited to know about their newest addition to the family: the All Hours Foundation Stick. With a medium to full coverage, creamy texture, oil-free formula and naturally-matte finish, this product is a cinch to use, long-wearing, and perfect to use for touch-ups throughout the day.
Too Faced Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette
We’ve never come across a Too Faced product that we didn’t like, but the Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette has taken our obsession with the brand to a new level. The shade that has stolen our hearts is Peach Punch, a rich coral hue that looks gorgeous blended on its own all over the eyelid, or pressed into the upper lash line for a smudgy liner effect.
Dermalogica Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask
Getting rid of blackheads and minimising the appearance of pores may seem like a mundane task, but Dermalogica’s Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask is here to shake things up. Not only does the mask bubble upon contact with skin, but ingredients such as sulfur and kaolin clay ensure that skin is deeply cleansed without leaving your complexion feeling tight or dried out.
Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Absolu
On the hunt for something impressive this upcoming Father’s Day? Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Absolu is bound to please. Fresh marine notes collide with warming woods and amber, and the result is powerful, potent and interesting without being too out-of-the-box or difficult to wear.
Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules Line Erasing Night Serum
Elizabeth Arden’s Ceramide Capsules are cult faves for good reason: they’re individual doses of potent skin care that deliver powerful results. The latest version features ceramides to strengthen the skin (just like the original Ceramide Capsules), but they also feature a new addition of retinol to target fine lines and wrinkles, along with nourishing ingredients such as avocado oil to replenish skin. Psst… with any remaining product, don’t forget to sweep it down your neck and across your décolletage to reap the full benefits of the capsule.
David Mallett Blush Spray Hydratant
David Mallett Blush Spray Hydratant puts the fun in functional, especially for those with blonde hair. Besides containing ingredients like tomato, grape seed and raspberry extract to nourish and protect your hair against colour-fading, it’s also gently scented with rhubarb and tinted with a blush colour. “For a fun effect, use Blush to give [your hair] a soft pinkish marshmallow effect,” explains Mallett. “It is temporary and stays only until you wash your hair.”
Votary Super Seed Facial Oil
The natural skin care category is saturated with products that claim to feature superfood ingredients that can nourish skin easily and effectively. However, what makes Votary stand out as a brand is it doesn’t just contain one or two supercharged ingredients. In fact, the Super Seed range features 21 oils, sourced from fruits and vegetables such as pomegranate, strawberry, chia, broccoli, cherry and pumpkin. A special mention goes to the Super Seed Facial Oil, which also boasts omega-3 acids to support a healthy skin structure.
Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade
Not all oud fragrances are created equal, as Louis Vuitton has just proven. Featuring agar wood meticulously sourced from Bangladesh, the juice is interestingly sweetened by raspberry, boosted with alluring rose and rounded out with benzoin and black incense. Altogether, it’s a combination that seriously works, and is fitting for both men and women to wear.
CND Shellac Luxe
If you’re someone that’s committed to getting Shellac every few weeks, then you’ll love CND’s latest update. Shellac Luxe (pictured here is Liberte) is just like regular Shellac as it allows for up to two weeks of wear, but the application process is reduced to just two steps and can be removed in 60 seconds. The result? A perfect-looking mani in just 45 minutes. We’re sold.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion
Sun protection has come a long way since the heavy-duty formulas that feel heavy or sticky. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion has SPF 50 protection that feels lightweight and airy (you’ll forget you’re wearing any at all) and can keep skin hydrated for up to eight hours.
