Hello, spring! There’s no better way to ring in the new season than with a brand new beauty buy. Check out our favourites to hit shelves this month, including a cutting-edge product from ghd (it’s their biggest launch since their original straightener!), a translucent powder that actually gives you a radiant glow, a new take on micellar water, and a favourite product from Aussie model Robyn Lawley.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Sorbet Blush
At the top of our shopping lists this month is Bourjois’ Healthy Mix Sorbet Blush, a blendable gel that looks just like melted gelato. Not only is it lightweight and durable, but the two shades - Raspberry and Apricot - work perfectly on all skin tones. Pat it onto the apples of your cheeks to bring your complexion to life, or blend it on your eyelids for a pop of colour when you blink.
Essano Turmeric Radiance Super Serum
Turmeric is one of the most celebrated ingredients in skin care as it can brighten and is packed with antioxidants to protect skin. Essano Turmeric Radiance Super Serum heroes turmeric, and also contains jojoba, aloe vera and hyaluronic acid to promote a natural and healthy-looking glow.
Dior Joy by Dior
Dior’s newest spritz for women - Joy by Dior - is set to be one of the biggest fragrance launches of the year. With Jennifer Lawrence as the face of the campaign and notes like tangy mandarin and bergamot, soothing rose and jasmine, grounding cedar and patchouli, and silky musk, how can you go wrong?
Dermalogica Rapid Reveal Peel
Chemical peels may sound aggressive for your skin, but they’re incredibly effective when it comes to brightening and improving the texture of skin. Dermalogica’s version features a combination of lactic acid, AHA extracts and pumpkin fruit enzyme that works in as little as three minutes. Use these peels every day for the first three days then weekly afterwards to maintain results.
L’Occitane Immortelle Reset
Now there’s a new way to boost luminosity in your skin - with L’Occitane Immortelle Reset, a lightweight water-gel serum that’s made from a blend of botanical ingredients. A nightly application of this product can refresh the appearance of your complexion, boost collagen production and make skin feel smoother. Plus, it’s a firm favourite for Robyn Lawley, L’Occitane’s brand ambassador: “I love that all of the essential oils are derived from the south of France, which is very close to my heart, having spent a lot of time there with my family.”
Cloud Nine The Curling Wand
New to Cloud Nine is The Curling Wand, a straight-barrel tool that allows you to create curls or waves with ease. “It's the perfect all-in-one tool for both long and short hair,” says Cloud Nine Creative Director, Lauren McCowan. “I've been able to create big bouncy curls and low-key soft waves all with the same tool. The Curling Wand is actually made with a mineral-infused coated barrel that also leaves any type of textured hair looking smooth and conditioned.”
NIVEA 1 Minute Urban Skin Detox Mask Moisture
One thing’s for sure, anti-pollution skin care is trending and it is here to stay. NIVEA’s 1 Minute Urban Skin Detox Moisture Mask is the latest pollution-fighting formula worth trying. It contains green tea to soothe and hyaluronic acid to boost moisture, however the real hero ingredient is white clay, which detoxifies skin and reverses the signs of pollution damage.
Bioré Charcoal Micellar Water
What happens when you combine two buzzworthy skin care ingredients in one? You get a product that seriously works. Bioré Charcoal Micellar Water can effectively tackle even the most stubborn makeup, such as long-wearing foundation, waterproof mascara and brow pomades. The addition of charcoal deep-cleanses pores and absorbs excess oil without stripping skin of moisture. Why has nobody thought of this combination sooner?!
Dr. Lewinn’s Ultra R4 Collagen 360 Eye Masks
Got tired-looking peepers? These Dr. Lewinn’s Eye Masks can refresh the area in a hurry. “What’s great about these eye masks is they cover both the skin on the lid and the under-eye area, giving the entire eye area a serious dose of hydration,” explains Beauty Crew’s Editor Carli Alman. “I have hooded lids so I was worried how the mask would fit, but I had no problem with it staying in place and at a comfortable distance away from my eyeball. After 15 minutes I removed the masks and my skin felt smooth and plump. I also found that my under-eye concealer applied easier and looked better after use.”
This season, embrace your natural wave or curl with a styling product like Kevin.Murphy Killer.Waves that won’t leave your locks feeling sticky, heavy or crunchy. Killer.Waves has been designed to encourage curls, so it is most suited to someone who has some natural curl to begin with. “It’s best when used by someone with naturally curly or wavy hair who wants to control, enhance and prolong what you’ve already got,” explains hairstylist and founder, Kevin Murphy. “If you have fine hair, this would be the only product you’d need to use. It’s quite volumising too, so if you have thick or coarse hair, you would use Killer.Waves as your foundation product before following up with something creamy.”
Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte's Genius Magic Powder
This Magic Powder is no ordinary loose powder (hence the name!). Made with a blend of silica and silky mica, this product can soak up excess oils and prolong the wear of foundation and concealer without feeling heavy on skin. Plus, an application can make your skin look naturally-radiant instead of flat or completely matte. We’re sold.
The new ghd platinum+ looks minimalist - and that’s because there are no temperature settings, just an on and off button. The reason for this is the device actually contains special sensors to read your hair’s thickness and section size, and will adjust the heat setting accordingly, but will never reach temperatures more than 185 degrees.
