You know the best part about getting a pimple? Nothing. Because they always turn up uninvited at the worst possible time. If you’re anything like us, you trawl through every trick in the book (spot treatments, not touching it...ha!) to try and get rid of them.
But we bet there’s one solution you’ve definitely heard of, but probably haven’t tried yet. We’re talking about those nifty little clear pimple patches that promise to help heal blemishes while you sleep, or even while you’re out and about (if you’re game for it!).
The good news is Australian beauty vlogger Chloe Morello (she has a whopping 1.1 million Instagram followers alone) has done all the hard work for us and has given pimple patches a whirl. What’s more, she’s documented the whole process on her Instagram story. What a champ.
In her story, she said that upon noticing an angry red spot, she popped on one of the Vice Reversa Microneedling Pimple Patches. She wrote, “Unashamedly wearing my @vicereversea pimple patches out and about.”
No shame, no gain! Or something along those lines…
In an Instagram clip, Chloe said, “So, I’ve had this pimple under my skin for the past week…I don’t know what they’re from but they’re under the skin and never come to a head and it sometimes takes over a month to get rid of them. I [usually] have to go to the skin clinic to get in lanced or removed. So I’m trying these new pimple patches I’ve actually had for a while and just cracked open.”
“It has little needles on the underside that are filled with stuff to fight pimples. So, when you put it on, the needles penetrate into the pimple and release the active ingredients.”
Kinda freaked out but intrigued at the same time? These little patches each contain thousands of microscopic active ingredients (such as salicylic acid, totarol and green tea extract) that penetrate the epidermis (thanks to those tiny needles) and dissolve, helping the blemish to heal faster.
“It also prevents you from touching the pimple and it also prevents bacteria and stuff getting in it. So I’m going to see how these work, because I know this kind of pimple is really stubborn,” says Chloe.

The result? After leaving the patch on during a gym sesh and overnight (we recommend applying a new one in between!), Chloe removed it from her skin, posting a snap of the patch and writing, “If you’re curious about how these @vicereversa patches work: there’s some white residue on the patch.”
In a follow-up post, Chloe shared a before and after shot of her pimple – and we have to say, it looks like the redness has certainly subsided. She wrote, “The pimple is a little bit smaller. It has no head and no sign of it, so I wasn’t expecting a miracle TBH.”
