And she’s not the first celebrity to try it

Despite heavy recommendations from beauty and hair experts to strictly leave our hair alone during quarantine, celebrities are breaking these long-standing rules and taking a major self-isolation risk. Your favourite Hollywood stars are breaking out the box dye and giving their strands a splash of colour – correction: a serious splash of colour.

Joining the likes of Hilary Duff, who recently debuted her new vibrant aquamarine locks is none other than trailblazer Dua Lipa, who recently shared her fresh pink colour, courtesy of her model boyfriend Anwar Hadid.

In her latest Instagram post that she has coined “quarantine diaries,” Lipa updated fans on how she’s been passing the time during lockdown, which we now know includes experimenting with her hair colour. In the fourth shot of her gallery, we’re treated to a sweet pic of Hadid in action, focusing the new hue on the top of the singer’s head, creating a cool-girl two-toned look.

"Quarantine diaries - this weeks experiment ... pink hair. That’s kind of it really... I haven't acquired a new skill but I have joined world of warcraft and I have two pets on it called mintsaws and little sheena (one’s a dragonhawk and one’s a tiger)," she wrote. "I've attempted a few morning facetime workouts with my friends and because ive still been doing bits of promo from home - a massive shout out is due to all the journalists who have been so patient with me while im on my quest to becoming a true tech wiz."

This isn’t the first beauty risk Dua Lipa has taken during self-isolation. Last month, the star took to social media to share that she had cut her own fringe – and nailed it, might we add. Lipa went for a slightly feathered look that frames her features and highlights her bold brows.

While we recommend leaving major hair transformations up to the professionals, if you’re in desperate need of a fringe trim during lockdown, here are some expert tips to help you survive the experience.
