Emily Ratajkowksi on how she gets her go-to glow

Plus, the beauty products you’d find in her kit

Beauty Crew Contributor / May 25 2017

Model, actress and ‘It’ girl of the moment, Emily Ratajkowski, knows a thing or two about creating a striking beauty look (just take a look at her intense Grammy’s makeup), but what we love most about the model is that she also knows exactly how to nail the perfectly bronzed ‘I woke up like this’ look.

So when she spoke to Into The Gloss about her go-to routine when she’s getting ready, and the products she can’t get enough of, we were all ears. Here are a few things we learnt.

#1 / Always apply makeup to clean skin

“Before makeup, I wash my face. Even if I already have makeup on, I like to start fresh. I use Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Face Wash or I’ll use this Sisley Cleansing Milk. Then maybe I’ll use the Sisley Black Rose Precious Oil.”

#2 / Don’t be afraid of your brows

“I don't always wear foundation, but tonight I wanted to do it up a little bit, so I'm using Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Foundation in 6 Medium. Then I tweeze my brows if I have any strays and brush them up with either Glossier Boy Brow (which is not available in Australia) or this Eyeko Brow Gel. It makes a really bushy brow — the brush really fans everything out in a way that I love. If I need to fill in any spots I use Marc Jacobs Brow Wow Defining Pencil in Ash Brown.”

#3 / You can never use too much highlight

“I use this Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip and Cheek Balm—just on the cheekbones and the bridge of my nose. I love it! If that's not enough, I'll use this Rosie for Autograph Starstruck Stick. It's a bit more iridescent, and just a little heavier. I'll put that on my nose and the upper cheekbone.” BeautyCrew note: Unfortunately these products are not available in Australia, however we would recommend Maybelline Baby Lips Balm and Blush and Benefit Cosmetics Watt's Up! Highlighter Stick.

#4 / Hair texture is key

“I usually just curl it with some basic iron, I do it in sections and then brush it out and spray it with L'Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Normal Strength Hairspray. Then I spray some Living Proof Instant Texture Mist (we recommend Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray) in and I’ll use Bumble and bumble Prêt-à-Powder. I just ran out of that, so I've been using baby powder for more volume. The smell isn't great, but it works just as well. I've tried every kind of dry shampoo, and they don't work. I just have to use a powder instead."
