Here's what the cast of 'Euphoria' looked like before taking over television
Like, before they wore glitter

If you're not acquainted with the Euphoria cast by now, you must be living under, well, something way bigger than a rock. A boulder or a skyscraper, perhaps. Because let's be real: Euphoria is everywhere.
After taking over TV back in 2019 (and now TikTok with its intensely-awaited second season), there really is no escaping the show or its cast.
And honestly, why would we want to? From Alexa Demie's 'Maddy' (AKA the Internet's current obsession) to the one and only Zendaya (who's already taken home an Emmy for her riveting role as Rue), the cast is made up of icons only, and you'll never catch us complaining about the fact that everyone wants to talk about them, because, um, same.
But though every leading lady on the call sheet has been catapulted to superstardom since the show's premiere, the journeys to get there were all a little different. For example, while we all knew and loved our queen Zendaya during her Disney days, Demie's past (and past aesthetic) is a little more mysterious.
So in the spirit of fuelling your (and our) ongoing obsession, here's a look at what the faces behind our favourite pack of problematic teens were like prior to landing the roles of a lifetime. Here are the women of Euphoria before Euphoria...
Long story short, Zendaya has had killer curls since day one. We watched her grow up onscreen and on red carpets throughout the runs of her Disney hits Shake It Up and K.C. Undercover, and she's gone from strength to strength (both aesthetically and career wise) along the way. One of the things we love most about Zendaya's look? That even as the reigning queen of Gen Z, she still wholly embraces a side part just like she did as a kid.

There's no doubt that Schafer is an icon for trans women (and people) everywhere, entering the world of acting via Euphoria after establishing herself as a fashion model. She's super open about her journey with gender identity, too: "I do like people to know that I'm not a cis girl because that's not something that I am or feel like I am. I’m proud to be a trans person," she once explained on North Carolina public radio. She also happens to have one of the best sets of bone structure in the business and hair that seems to shout 'yes, you should absolutely get a blonde bob'.

Billed online as 'the girl who's lived a thousand lives', the mystery surrounding Demie's age is one of TikTok's favourites to analyse. However you slice it, however, it's pretty clear she was a beauty maven from the day she was born; those pigtails did not come to play. She may have had a slightly overzealous bronzer and coloured hair dye phase (like many of us did), but these days Demie is the definition of the word chic, whether she's showing off a statement look or a subtle one.

Despite her new status as one of Hollywood's go-to girls, Sweeney has actually been on the scene for quite some time, as evidenced by her cute-as-can-be guest spot on Criminal Minds at age 12. We came to love (or worship, whatever works) her as a buttery blonde, but it appears that her natural shade is actually a far deeper brunette. She also decided an 'edgy' fringe was a good idea for a minute there, but hey, we've all been there.

All hail our Tumblr queen! A viral sensation in her own right, Ferreira became beloved for A) being gorgeous and relatable and B) not shying away from talking about body confidence. And while her bespectacled past self may be the cutest kid we've ever laid eyes on and her long hair was damn divine, we will admit that you wouldn't be able to see her signature statement shadow looks the same way behind glasses, and her jet black bob suits her to a tee.

Apatow literally evolved before our eyes (thanks to her celeb parents Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann's affinity for putting their outrageously adorable daughters in their movies), and so seeing her take over the world as one half of the show's cutest couple (Fexi forever) is wildly exciting. Do we see her gorgeous corkscrew curls as often these days as we did when she was younger? No, but honestly, considering she rocks a red lip like no one else and has one of the best bobs in town, we'll willingly let that one go.

Like her older onscreen sister Zendaya, Reid's pre-Euphoria resume was lengthy (and so, blessedly, so is her red carpet pic history). She may have established a newfound love for winged liner through the years, but it's nice to see that her soft spot for statement hair (whether in the form of precious flower clips, stunning curls or sculptural topknots built from her own strands) is still going strong.
