Fenty Beauty and Rare Beauty are leading the pack when it comes to their response to the Black Lives Matter Movement hashtag, #blackouttuesday, that has taken over Instagram on a global scale this Tuesday.
Rihanna has been extremely vocal across both her personal and Fenty brand accounts in her support of the reaction to the murder of George Floyd sharing the following thoughts with her fans:
So, it comes as no surprise that Fenty made the choice to shut up shop, and encouraged people to use the day “as a time to reflect and make real change” instead.
"We are not staying silent and we are not standing by."

Selena Gomez made a similar decision, choosing to close down the websites for her personal site and the newly launched Rare Beauty:
“It's our hope that we can all take time to do some introspective thinking about how we can all come together and listen to one another with an open heart and mind. We're also thinking through how we can take action against systemic racism and make change.”
