Sydney Sweeney, Adele & Kelsea Ballerini have all endorsed this nail trend

This is how to DIY the geometric French manicure

Celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt is a trusted authority when it comes to nail trends because she’s helped to catalyse several of her own, including the glazed donut nude manicure

But after a whole year dedicated to chrome powder-dusted nails it seems that the nail artist is stretching her wings and trying something new.

Introducing the geometric French manicure.

A play on the classic coloured tips of a French manicure, the nail look does away with accenting the natural curve of the nail tip and instead breaks the nail into alternating nude and coloured quadrants.

Ganzorigt has already painted several of her A-list client’s nails with the inventive new design; Sydney Sweeney went for a cyan blue and nude combo, Adele chose a black and nude tuxedo colour palette, and Kelsea Ballerini went the subtle route with a nude and white interpretation.

Ganzorigt even painted her own nails in a red and nude version of the nail art design and shared a quick tutorial detailing how she did it via Instagram…

“Okay, let’s do the nail design that was living in my head rent free, while revealing my favourite semi-sheer perfect nude colour combo,” said Ganzorigt in the tutorial.

“After applying [OPI Stay Strong Base Coat Gel Colour] ($32.95 at National Salon Supplies), [I apply] one coat of [OPI Pale to the Chief Gel Colour] ($26 at Oz Nails Beauty Supply) and apply one to two coats of [OPI Put It in Neutral Gel Colour] ($26 at Oz Nails Beauty Supply) — depending on how you like it [to look] — I used two coats on this [nail],” she explained as she painted her nails.

“Then draw a triangle [of lines] using [an] art brush and fill out the empty space with [OPI Kiss My Aries Gel Colour] ($29.72 at Universal Nail Supplies),” she continued.

“Then place the gold charm ($9.50 at Aurora Nail Supply) right on the [inner] corner and finish it with [OPI Stay Shiny Top Coat Gel Colour] ($29.95 at Best Nail Supply),” she explained. “That’s it. Let me know how you like it.”
