Hailey Bieber has one of the best faces in the business, with beautiful, clear and glowing skin. But a flawless complexion doesn't necessarily come naturally to the 24-year-old model, who recently revealed she has Perioral dermatitis, a type of inflammatory rash that can flare up with improper care.
"Certain products irritate my skin, giving me a horrible itchy rash around my mouth and eyes," she told Glamour. Because of this, Bieber is quite particular about her routine; "I always try to avoid fragrance in products as it’s too much on the skin."
And because there's nothing we love more than a carefully curated celebrity skin care routine, our delight levels were absolutely through the roof when Bieber took to her YouTube channel to share both her evening and morning rituals.
So, without further ado, here are all her go-to products in all their glow-boosting glory...
Hailey Bieber's morning skin care routine
Biologique Recherche Masque Visolastine
"One of my favourite things to do when I’m getting ready for work is a mask. I wouldn’t do a mask every single day obviously, but when I want a little bit of an extra glow I go for a nice calming hydrating mask to wake my skin up a little bit." Her usual mask of choice? The Biologique Recherche Masque Visolastine (local pricing and stockist information available at Biologique Recherche).
Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Under Eye Masks & Milk Makeup Cooling Water Undereye Patches
"Something I like to do – to essentially kill two birds with one stone while I’m masking – is grab some eye masks. I really like these cool gold ones," she said, referencing the Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks ($37 at Revolve). "I will put them under my eyes over the mask that’s already on my face just to kind of have two things happening at once."
She also happens to wear a pair of patches on the go if she's feeling puffy while out and about. Her latest faves? Milk Makeup's Cooling Water Undereye Patches ($34 at Sephora).
Zena Foster Sonic Gold Beauty Bar
"Give me any facial tool; I’ll try anything. This little gold bar, you turn it on and it vibrates which is really nice under your eyes; I just go right over the eye mask, it feels so nice. I wish everybody could be feeling what I’m feeling right now. I usually do this for maybe a minute between both eyes, and once I’m done with that, I sit for the rest of the remaining time with the mask on. I usually leave it on for like 8 to 10 minutes." The 'little gold bar' Bieber is referring to? The Zena Foster Sonic Gold Beauty Bar ($86.49 at Zena Foster).
Biba Los Angeles Plant Stem Cell Peptide Serum
"I like to apply serum when my skin is a little bit damp, and I use this really hydrating peptide serum. I really, really love peptides for the skin, I think that it’s one of the best ingredients to use. [To apply], I just press it into the skin." 'It' being the Biba Los Angeles Plant Stem Cell Peptide Serum ($137 at Biba Los Angeles), of course.
BeautyStat Universal C Skin Refiner
“It has changed my skin, [it’s] one of my holy grail products,” Bieber explained via YouTube re: this brightening, retexturising and firming face serum. Formulated with 20 per cent vitamin C, the BeautyStat Universal C Skin Refiner ($126 at Revolve) is a lightweight option that aims to deliver smoother, silkier, more radiant ‘pore-less’ looking skin.
Furtuna Skin Due Alberi Biphase Moisturising Oil
"[Next], I’m going to use a little facial massaging tool all over my face [but first] I need an oil to help a little bit with the moisture and for the tool to glide over my face." Not just any old oil though; Bieber likes the Furtuna Skin Due Alberi Biphase Moisturising Oil ($324 at Furtuna Skin).
Shani Darden Skin Care Facial Sculpting Wand
"This right here is a facial massaging tool that you turn on and it vibrates; I really love this device. I use a lower setting and just go in; it feels so nice. I clench my teeth really hard at night so when I wake up in the morning, my jaw is usually kind of sore, and [I get] sore in my temples, so this feels insane." Wondering which tool she uses? It's no other than the Shani Darden Skin Care Facial Sculpting Wand ($399 at Shani Darden).
Elta MD Tinted Sunscreen
"My last step of this routine is my sunscreen – I am very big on SPF. I don’t leave the house without it; I don’t go to work without it, even if I’m just working from home and I’m inside the house, the sun rays still hit you through the windows. I know there’s a lot of debate around how much sunscreen you’re supposed to use when you apply it every day. I don’t have that answer, I couldn’t tell you – I use one full pump of sunscreen and then if I feel like I need more in other areas I will add more."
"I use a tinted sunscreen just because I feel like it blends into my face and my skin a little bit better. You can’t forget the neck, and can’t forget the eyelids; the eyelids are important because those will get wrinkly one day too. And there you have it!" Bieber is a fan of the Elta MD Tinted Sunscreen ($88.91 at Amazon).
Hailey Bieber's evening skin care routine
MARA Beauty Algae Enzyme Cleansing Oil
"[At night] I start with an oil cleanser because I have a lot of makeup on and I don't use makeup wipes. I started doing this during quarantine and it’s honestly made the biggest difference in my skin, so that is how I take my makeup off now; I don't do it any other way. I go gentle on the eyes and just start to break up all the mascara, break up all the foundation, and get everything off my lips and eyes [before rinsing]." Enter the MARA Beauty Algae Enzyme Cleansing Oil ($95 at Beauty Warrior).
HoliFrog Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash
"[After] oil cleanser I go in with a second step cleanse. I like cleansers that don’t get super foamy; I prefer something that’s a milkier, hydrating, nourishing wash. I never like for my skin to feel dry and stripped and tight after I wash." What is said wash, you may be wondering? The HoliFrog Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash ($59.95 at The Apothecary Store).
Biba Los Angeles Plant Stem Cell Peptide Serum
"[Post-cleanse, I apply my same] serum [from my morning routine]. I massage it into my skin while my face is still a little bit damp so that the product soaks into the skin a little bit better."
Biba Los Angeles Cream Barrier
"At nighttime, I typically go with a more intense moisturiser, something thicker, just to soak into my skin overnight," she shared. Her nourishing formula of choice? BIBA Los Angeles' Cream Barrier ($137 at Biba Los Angeles). "My standard when I go to bed at night is that if I’m not getting into bed looking like a glazed donut, then I’m not doing the right thing. Find yourself a moisturiser that helps you look like a glazed donut at the end of the day. If I was, let’s say, breaking out on my forehead, right now I probably wouldn’t put a thick moisturiser on my forehead just because I think that it can make breakouts worse, [but otherwise, it's okay]."
Furtuna Skin Due Alberi Biphase Moisturizing Oil
Next up is a second application of the luxurious Furtuna Skin Due Alberi Biphase Moisturising Oil from the A.M. "I have really sensitive skin that tends to be on the more dry side so usually I add one layer of [my A.M.] oil again just for the sake of looking like a glazed donut. I don’t ever do too much; I kind of just like pat it into the skin."
Dieux Instant Angel
Bieber confessed her affinity for this trusty moisturising tube, AKA the new-but-quickly-gaining-cult-status Dieux Instant Angel ($65 at Dieux, but currently only shipping within the US) via an Instagram Story, writing "Instant angel indeed. Couldn't love this moisturiser more." We hope the brand blesses Australia with its velvety-but-lightweight hydrating abilities ASAP!
"I really, really love the little Starface pimple stickers; they totally help heal a pimple way faster, so if I’m breaking out I will always sleep with one of these on. They look cute; I’m never mad at a cute little situation, so I stick these on my little spots.”
FYI, we're still waiting on the Starface Hydro Stars ($21.60 at Starface) to be available here in Australia, but in the meantime, we're also loving these flower-shaped cuties or these less-cute-but-every-bit-as-effective clear options.
bareMinerals Ageless Phyto-Retinol Eye Cream
"I’m usually really, really diligent about eye cream because the eyes are a really sensitive area, and I’m trying to prevent getting crow’s feet, so I really try not to ever skip it. One thing, ladies and gentleman, to not forget, is to put eye cream on lids, too, because those get saggy as you age." FYI, she's a fan of the bareMinerals Ageless Phyto-Retinol Eye Cream ($69 at MECCA).
Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Another of Bieber's faves? Aquaphor ($27.07 at iHerb). "My very last step and something that I legitimately cannot go to bed without doing is lip balm. I hate chapped lips. I hate when they feel dry; it’s truly one of my biggest pet peeves. My go-to is Aquaphor; I think it’s the best lip balm. Also, if I had really flaky dry patches anywhere on my skin, I would go in and put a little extra Aquaphor on those areas."
NuFace Trinity Device & Trinity Wrinkle Reducer Attachment
Bieber is also quite the fan of fancy skin care devices. In fact, she recently took to Instagram Stories to share a video of herself getting right amongst the at-home LED action.
She didn't opt for an all-over mask, either; instead, she chose to spot treat with a nifty tool that appeared to be the NuFace Trinity Device ($483 at MECCA) with the NuFace Trinity Wrinkle Reducer Attachment ($227 at MECCA) attached.
Skin-smoothing light therapy from the couch? Sounds like a winning idea to us.
