How to get skin like Hailey Bieber

Everything we know about the model's routine...

Lifestyle Editor, Woman's Day / January 21 2021

Hailey Bieber has one of the best faces in the business, with beautiful, clear and glowing skin.

But a flawless complexion doesn't come naturally to the 24-year-old model, who recently revealed she has Perioral dermatitis, a type of inflammatory rash that can flare up with improper care.

"Certain products irritate my skin, giving me a horrible itchy rash around my mouth and eyes," she told Glamour.

Because of this, Hailey is quite particular about her routine; "I always try to avoid fragrance in products as it’s too much on the skin."

She also tries to keeps things simple, which is great for us, as her routine is easy enough for anyone to follow.

“[My skincare routine doesn’t have] a million and one steps because I think it’s unnecessary and I just don’t have the time for that,” Hailey shared in a recent digital masterclass, with renowned skin specialist Dr Barbara Sturm.

And since going into lockdown, she's even got Justin following her regimen...

“Justin has really nice skin naturally, [but] over the last two years he's been struggling with adult-onset acne breakouts," shared Hailey. "So, [since] I'm super into skin care and especially since we've had a lot of time in this quarantine, I told him that by the time we exit [isolation] he's going to have glowing, perfect skin.”

Here's a rundown of Hailey's routine and the products she swears by...

Step 1. Cleanser

When Hailey isn’t using her dermatologist’s own skincare range, CK Perfect Skin by Christie Kidd, (which is only available to her clients - damn!), she has another go-to that’s more accessible.

“I stick to the bareMinerals Pureness Gel Cleanser because it has coconut oil in it and I love how it makes my skin glow,” she says.

Step 2. Serum

Bieber's choice of serum is on the exxy side, but it seems to be worth it, with Ashley Graham, Sienna Miller and Kristen Stewart also naming it as a must-have.

“This serum is a favourite of mine,” Hailey says of the SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Serum. And it’s no wonder, given it’s packed with 15% vitamin C, alongside youth-boosting vitamin E, and ferulic acid.

It seems Bieber is a fan of vit-C serums across the board, too, recently taking to Instagram to share another of her face-brightening favourites: Dr. Barbara Sturm's The Good C Vitamin C Serum.

The formula's loaded with three different forms of vitamin C, including Kakadu plum, the most potent plant source of the stuff. It's as plumping and hydrating as it is luminising, though, thanks to additions of aloe vera and hyaluronic acid.

Step 3. Moisturiser

Post-serum Hailey opts for the ‘Rolls-Royce’ of anti-ageing moisturisers, HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator by SkinMedica. It contains five types of hyaluronic acid for some serious plumping and hydrating action.

Weekly treat: Face mask

There's no doubt face mask sales have seen an absolute boom since isolation, but it's good to know they won't go to waste if you're looking to emulate Hailey's glow.

Currently, Mrs Bieber is loving Drunk Elephant's F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial™ for its energising, hydrating and plumping effects.

“I looooove this mask,” she wrote, as she shared the product on her Instagram Stories.

Photoshoot prep: 10 minute moisturising mask & under-eye patches

Being a model, Mrs. Bieber’s face is literally her money-maker, so when it comes to getting ready for work she has a specific shoot-prep routine for making sure her skin is in tip-top shape.

The 24-year-old recently shared it via her Instagram Stories, revealing that she likes to layer a 10 minute moisturising face mask with a set of under-eye masks to start.

Though she hasn’t specified which brand is her go-to, we recommend sticking with formulas that promote a hydrated, plump and radiant complexion.

Want to try it for your next special occasion? Apply a thin, even layer of an antioxidant-rich, skin-brightening mask, like this offering from Hailey’s gal pal Kylie JennerKylie Skin Hydrating Face Maskfor 10 minutes (or 15 if you’re feeling fancy).

Then, layer a pair of eye masks on top to help de-puff and awaken tired eyes. We love these collagen-infused hydro-gel patches from Knesko for youthful-looking, bright eyes all day long.

Spot treatment: Starface pimple patches

Yes, because she's a human being, Bieber does still get blemishes. Luckily, she has a solution for handling them as quickly and effectively as possible.

Her skin-clearing secret weapon? Pimple patches, specifically ones which harness the power of an ingredient called hydrocolloid to absorb oil and bacteria in order to shrink and dry out the spot faster.

Her faves are these Starface shar-shaped patches (which she revealed her love for via a very cute mirror selfie). We're still waiting on them to be available here in Australia, but we'll bide the time and nix blemishes while we do by slapping on these flower-shaped cuties or these less-cute-but-every-bit-as-effective clear options.

Is your skin freaking out during quarantine? We've got the quick fixes for a stressed complexion.
