You can grab Kendall Jenner's entire Met Gala lip combo for $41.98 at Chemist Warehouse
When it comes to the Met Gala, we expect couture gowns, diamonds the size of ice cubes and beauty looks that require a celebrity-sized bank account to recreate. That’s exactly why we did a double take when Kendall Jenner stepped onto the carpet wearing a lip combo that costs less than fifty bucks. Well, $41.98 to be exact.
Yep, Jenner’s soft nude lip, created by her longtime makeup artist Mary Phillips, came courtesy of two affordable L'Oréal Paris Australia buys currently sitting on shelves at Chemist Warehouse. And though they may be fairly cheap, they clearly look luxurious!
The first step? The L’Oréal Paris Hyaluron Tint Lip Stain Serum ($20.99 at Chemist Warehouse), which gave Jenner that your-lips-but-better flush with a glossy stain effect that somehow survived hours of posing, flashing cameras and Met Gala small talk. Phillips layered the serum tint with the L’Oréal Paris Plump Ambition Hyaluron Lip Oil ($20.99 at Chemist Warehouse), for that plush, hydrated shine.
“For Kendall’s stained pout, I applied the lip tint, let it sit for a minute, and wiped it off so there was a stain left on her lips [before adding the oil for] that little extra something,” Phillips shared re: creating the lip look.
And honestly? The pairing makes perfect sense. The stain delivers long-wear pigment with a lightweight serum texture, while the lip oil adds that juicy, reflective finish without tipping into sticky territory.
The pair haven’t yet revealed the exact shades used, but based on our shade-matching research, we’d guess that ‘Worth It’ was the colour used in both formulas.
The best bit is that both products are currently priced at just $20.99 each at Chemist Warehouse, meaning you can recreate a Met Gala-approved lip look for under $42.
Phillips, who is known for her signature softly contoured skin and diffused glam, leaned into polished minimalism with feathered lashes, luminous skin and subtly defined cheeks. But it was definitely the lip combo that we were most determined to steal.
Jenner’s look is undeniable proof that sometimes the best beauty looks on the biggest red carpets don’t come from a luxury makeup vault, they come from the Chemist Warehouse beauty aisle.
