Kendall Jenner wore a $16 lipstick to the Met Gala

Yet looked like a million bucks

When we think of all things Kar-Jenner, we think ultra-luxe, especially when it comes to their fashion and beauty looks. So imagine our surprise when Kendall Jenner stepped out on the steps of the Met wearing none other than L'Oréal Paris!

Yep, we’ve finally been given a not so avant garde Met Gala look that we can copy and it won’t even break the bank. Phew! Jenner’s gorgeous classic look might’ve been thanks to L'Oréal but the incredible creative mind behind the application was none other than Mary Phillips. The celeb-loved makeup artist has been behind plenty of Jenner’s looks over the years, and this look was equally as flawless as the rest, with the added benefit of being affordable too.

So, let’s see exactly what Phillips used to create Kendall Jenner’s Met Gala lip look…

Kendall Jenner’s Met Gala Exact Lipstick Shades

To be honest, we’ve come to a very obvious realisation: Jenner’s face card never declines, which has got to make Phillips' job easier. But if you’re looking to create the lip look yourself, you’re going to need just two products – which are currently half price at Priceline FYI.

Phillips kept the look ultra simple (and budge-proof) with the L'Oréal Paris Infaillible Le Matte Resistance Liquid Matte Lipstick. While the formula might dry down to a totally immovable matte (much needed for Jenner’s long night ahead), it’s actually been designed with hydrating hyaluronic acid.

To create the look, Phillips used the shades ‘105 Breakfast in Bed’ ($15.99 (usually $31.99) at Priceline) and ‘120 Major Crush’ ($15.99 (usually $31.99) at Priceline). And while we don’t have exactly how she chose to apply the combo of the shades, we can see that Jenner’s bottom lip appears brighter than the top. So when you’re recreating the look, opt for a layer of ‘Major Crush’ all over, and top it with just a smidge of ‘Breakfast in Bed’.

And that’s it! Seriously simple and completely affordable; the kind of makeup looks we love to see taking centre stage on the red carpet. All we need to do now is hit add to cart and we’ll be on our way to a Jenner-esque pout!
