And there’s a good chance it’s already in your kitchen
If there’s one thing we all want our hair to be, it’s shiny. Regardless of whether your tresses fall long and loose or spring into tight ringlets, glossy strands are at the top of everyone’s wish list.
It turns out Kourtney’s trick is a DIY lover’s delight, as it involves coating the hair with a custom blend of pantry staples. “My amazing hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons and I came up with a recipe we’re calling a hair smoothie,” she wrote. The Kardashian sisters are often seen consuming smoothies made up of avocados, coconut milk and manuka honey, which according to Fitzsimons, is what inspired the DIY hair mask recipe.
To recreate the shine-inducing hair mask for yourself, blend one and a half avocados with two tablespoons of olive oil, two tablespoons of manuka honey and the juice of half a lemon. Then simply coat your locks with the mixture, comb it through and leave in for approximately 45 minutes. Rinse and reap the rewards of a healthier and shinier mane in less than an hour.
