The product

Winter can take dry skin from bad to worse; we’re talking tight, uncomfortable and even itchy. But La Roche-Posay’s recent re-formulation of a much-loved favourite is ideal to restore hydration and comfort to your skin.

Introducing: La Roche-Posay Lipikar Baume AP+M Body Balm, featuring an ultra-hydrating formula that’s gentle enough for even the most sensitive of skin.

The lipid-rich balm contains microresyl, a natural active ingredient that helps to promote a balanced skin microbiome, as well as shea butter and niacinamide, which provide a barrier against irritants, dry weather and other factors that agitate skin. The balm helps reinforce the skin’s natural barrier and boost overall skin health.

Our panel of Review Crew® testers put this sensitive skin-loving balm to the test.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent La Roche-Posay Lipikar Baume AP+M Body Balm to a panel of women aged between 18 and 44, who identify as having dry or very dry skin.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about La Roche-Posay Lipikar Baume AP+M Body Balm.

The way it helped soothe dry, itchy skin: Many of our members loved that it helped to hydrate and soothe dry and itchy patches on their skin. With some members even noting it helped to minimise the appearance of dry patches of skin they were experiencing.

How hydrated their skin felt: Our reviewers were impressed with the hydrating formula, with many saying the balm left their skin feeling soft and moisturised all day.

The quick-drying formula: Review Crew™ members really liked the fact that the balm absorbed quickly, meaning they didn’t have to worry about it transferring onto clothes or furniture after application.

The verdict

“I received this at the perfect time as I had a rash on my wrist and arms at the time. After using this for 7 days, the rash was nearly gone. While the balm feels thick when you rub it in, it sinks quickly into the skin and you're left with soft and hydrated skin. It helped to reduce the itchiness and hotness that my skin was experiencing.”

“One of the best body and face moisturisers l have come across. It’s thick but extremely hydrating, so I would only use it every second day. My skin has been going through it lately with acne treatments and has been very dry, red, itchy and irritated. This definitely helped a lot with calming it down! The price is reasonable as the bottle is very large and will last a while. Highly recommended for very dry rough skin.”

“I’ve been using this product right after showering particularly on my legs where I suffer really bad dry and itchy patches. This cream has almost completely made those itchy patches disappear and even reduced the appearance of the marks. The cream itself is very light and glides on very easily without that sticky feeling. I definitely recommend this to anyone suffering from skin irritation and dryness.”
