Tell us a bit about your experience in the industry.
I worked as an editorial intern at marie claire for three months before being recommended to the BEAUTYcrew team as a beauty intern. I joined the editorial team full-time as their beauty assistant in 2019, and became a Junior Beauty Writer in 2020.
What’s been your biggest career highlight?
Probably getting to work with all the lovely ladies at BEAUTYcrew! As far as first industry jobs go, I’m pretty glad I got stuck with a bunch of hilarious beauty nerds.
What’s been your favourite beauty discovery?
Happy Skincare’s Black Seed Oil. It is literally a cure all for anything and everything: sensitive skin, dry, dehydrated skin, hives and acne. This stuff is no joke. Fun beauty fact: Black seed oil has actually been used in beauty routines for thousands of years by women in North Africa and the Middle East, and apparently Nefertiti was a big fan and liked to use it on her hair.
What do you think is the one beauty product every woman should own?
Whether you’re low-key or love a full beat, a hydrating moisturiser is a solid foundation for any beauty routine.
What’s the best beauty tip you’ve ever learnt?
To embrace your individuality.
Confess your biggest beauty sin.
I overplucked my eyebrows throughout high school, which I still feel residual shame about, tbh.
What’s your biggest beauty battle?
Learning to love my imperfections (dark under-eye circles add character, right?!)
Who is your beauty idol?
Literally everyone! I think all the women who have come into my life have left their own lasting impressions on me and imparted little tidbits of beauty wisdom.
3 beauty products we’d find in your cosmetics bag right now?
What is your beauty philosophy?
Make sure you nurture, love and respect yourself because you can put all the makeup on in the world but if you don’t feel good on the inside you’re never truly going to feel beautiful on the outside.
