Molly-Mae Hague has ditched *this* makeup routine staple

And we're considering following her league

The latest season of Love Island UK is officially in session. And while it's already shaping up to be a cracker, our eyes are still firmly planted on the everyday musings of past contestants. In particular, season five's runner-up: Molly-Mae Hague.

Whether you're Margot Robbie-level obsessed with the reality show or you've never even seen an episode, it's universally understood that Love Island UK contestants do not slack off when it comes to their glam.

Still unsure what we mean? Well, let's just say a day spent at home by the pool isn't complete without a set of lashes, self-tanner and full-coverage foundation. It's a beauty lover's paradise.

However, since welcoming her first daughter Bambi just last year and stepping down as PrettyLittleThing's creative director, Hague's day-to-day has been wound right back.

And seemingly, so has her beauty regimen.

From dissolving her lip filler to ditching acrylics in place of a short, natural manicure, Hague has embraced an au naturel glam yet again.

Her latest cull? Mascara.

In a caption written alongside the above image, Hague told Instagram: "No mascara for the win". Um, call us crazy, but those five short words and her fresh-faced selfie have honestly made us question our allegiance to the most beloved product in our makeup bag.

And it seems we're not alone.

One Instagram user left the comment, "Molly-Mae stopped wearing mascara so I stopped wearing mascara" as another wrote, "no mascara is a vibe."

There's a reason she's one of the world's highest-earning influencers, the girl can do exactly that: influence.

So, is this one selfie enough for us to ditch our lash-volumising wands? We'll have to get back to you on that...

If you're not quite ready to ditch your mascara entirely, we understand. Instead, try using this Marianna Hewitt-approved clear mascara or even a brown variation for a softer alternative that will still deliver some lift.

We love the Designer Brands Clear Mascara ($12.99 at Designer Brands) and the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara in 'Chocolate' ($46 at MECCA).
