Want to know about the products that are tickling our fancy this month? You’ve come to the right place. Here are our absolute must-haves this November if you’re looking to expand your beauty collection.
Pureology Hydrate Superfood Treatment
Whether you’re guilty of regularly heat styling your hair or are just experiencing dull or lifeless locks from general wear and tear, you’re going to need something intensely nourishing to get your tresses looking and feeling like normal again. Pureology’s Hydrate Superfood Treatment brings together avocado and coconut oil to immediately soften and boost shine after use, which takes just two to five minutes of shower time to complete. Not sure how much product to use? “My favourite trick is to run my index finger around the rim of the tub once for short to medium length hair, and twice for long hair,” says Chad Wijayatilake, hairstylist and Pureology Artist. Overloading your hair with excessive amounts of treatment is only going to cost you - literally. “Pureology’s products are highly concentrated so you don’t need to use a lot to obtain great results, and your hair will take the nourishment it needs from the treatment,” explains Wijayatilake. To apply, place the product in your palm, work the cream to warm and emulsify the formula, and apply it only to mid-lengths and ends.
Frank Body Magic Shimmer Oil
One of the most exciting launches we saw this month was Frank Body’s gold-flecked body oil, which is infused with moisturising ingredients (hello, grapeseed, evening primrose and coconut oils) and teeny tiny flecks of mica. It’s something that dry skin can soak up quickly and easily, and is one launch you won’t want to miss if you’re a fan of the shimmery stuff.
Tiffany & Co. EDP
Could this be one of the most highly-anticipated fragrance launches of the year? We think so. Starring a blend of fruits, florals and musks including vert de mandarine, patchouli and musk, along with the special addition of iris butter (which can only be harvested in France between July and August), it’s a scent that’s perfectly balanced and not overwhelming in the slightest. We’re sure this fragrance will sell out now that we’re on the home stretch to Christmas, so get in quick.
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint Hydrating Water-Cream Foundation
Just because a product is specially formulated for sensitive skin doesn’t mean it needs to compromise on quality. This featherweight liquid, which is a makeup extension to La Roche- Posay’s pre-existing skin care range, truly delivers on light coverage but intense hydration thanks to its hyaluronic acid-based formulation, and is perfect for normal to dry skin types.
COVERGIRL Total Tease Mascara
If you need to give bare lashes some lift and definition, this is the mascara for you. COVERGIRL’s Total Tease Mascara is our office favourite this month: “The brush looks a little kooky, but it actually works a treat to lengthen and define lashes,” explains our editor Carli. “The comb side separates and coats each lash, then you twist the wand to use the small section of bristles to apply the mascara to the tips of your lashes, the outer corners and the bottom lashes.”
Lo Roller Compact
The most ergonomic way to travel with your brushes is with a brush roll, and this one from Lo Roller is good looking and practical. What we love most about it is the fact that it’s made with denim, making it totally machine-washable and therefore more hygienic than polyester or leather versions. We think it’s a top choice for professional makeup artists and serious beauty buffs.
Clarisonic Sonic Foundation Brush
The secret to nailing a base that looks airbrushed could lie within the tool you’re using. The Sonic Foundation Brush is an attachment that fits with all hand-held Clarisonic devices, and oscillates to effortlessly blend liquid foundation (or even primer, highlighter and concealer) into skin to build coverage without looking cakey. The end result is a complexion that looks even and perfect, and isn’t that what we all strive to achieve?
UEW Haircare BIG Volume
Gone are the days of styling sprays that leave your hair feeling hard or crunchy; UEW Haircare’s newest product can give limp hair a big boost of volume and is even formulated with aloe vera, soy proteins and vitamin E to leave hair feeling soft and manageable. Hairstylist and founder of UEW Haircare, Sam Overton shares his top tip for boosting volume with his new product: “If you have straight or wavy hair, spritz this all over towel-dried hair and style straight away. Or for those with curly hair, spritz it into your hair and scrunch it in, or even diffuse it with a hairdryer for extra volume.”
Silver Bullet Fastlane Titanium Large Conical Curling Iron
If you’re after texture in your hair, try the Silver Bullet Fastlane Titanium Large Conical Curling Iron. It offers temperature control (from 80 degrees for hair extensions to 220 degrees for coarse hair), has a titanium barrel that heats up super quickly, and a conical shape that lets you create undone waves with ease. What we’re loving most is the rose gold barrel, which can pretty up your dresser in an instant.
Natural Instinct Vitamin C and Camellia Oil
Featuring a powerhouse combination of organic ingredients like evening primrose oil to feed skin with antioxidants, geranium oil and rosemary extract to address uneven skin tone and camellia oil to hydrate, this nourishing buy can be used in place of your serum and works a treat to produce a glowy effect when mixed in with your foundation.
Swisse Ultiboost Radiant Skin
Take your skin care ritual to the next level by introducing a round of supplements into your routine. Swisse Ultiboost Radiant Skin brings together an ingestible combination of smoothing, brightening and plumping ingredients - like collagen, vitamins A, C and E, biotin, and lycopene - to seriously give your complexion a noticeable boost, and can be taken daily during or after a meal.
Goldfield & Banks Wood Infusion
The fragrance that has been doing the rounds in our office is this new one from Goldfield & Banks, which covers off sensual notes like agarwood and Australian exotic woods, and is softened with touches of lavender and iris. However, what makes this spritz truly unique compared to other woody and oriental fragrances is the touch of sweet orange that brightens up the juice and makes it totally wearable for day or night events, and for both genders.
Samsung Gear Sport
Ramp up your training in time for summer with a wearable tracker that can amplify all the hard work you’re putting in to your workouts. They sure have come a long way since just being something you wear to count how many steps you’re taking each day: the water-resistant Samsung Gear Sport not only monitors calorie intake ( it’ll also tell you when you’re under or over your daily target), but it can show you stretches to do during low periods of activity, give you workout suggestions, count the number of swimming laps you’re doing, and link your credit card up with the device to tap and pay.
