I heard Olivia Dean smells like whipped cream, so I doused myself in whipped cream perfume
I'm extremely guilty of enjoying a sweet treat. Something vanilla-flavoured should be enjoyed daily and a decent fridgescape simply isn't complete without a can of whipped cream, sorry. But despite my preference for sugary sweetness in all forms (including scent), I'll admit I don't always feel the 'coolest' when I'm reaching for a scent designed around dessert.
That's all just changed completely though, because if Olivia Dean is dousing herself in whipped cream perfume, then there's officially nothing cooler. Here's the exact one she wears (plus a few more I'm partial to/can share now that Dean's cemented the note as chic)...
What perfume does Olivia Dean wear?
The actual perfume Olivia Dean wears? Burberry Her Parfum ($217 at Myer), which pairs delicate cherry notes with creamy vanilla, fresh pear and the previously raved about whipped cream. Now, cherry isn't my all-time favourite in a fragrance, but when teamed with enough dreamy creaminess, it's pretty damn chic. Hints of amber, moss and musk also ensure that it's not fruity or bright exactly, but full-bodied and deliciously good. Dean clearly has exquisite taste across the board.
There are plenty of top-tier scents in there, but for me (considering I can sniff out a whipped cream note like a bloodhound), the cream is the element that gives it the fluffy, almost cloud-like sweetness I keep coming back for. It's creamy, airy and just indulgent enough without being sickly sweet.
Best Whipped Cream Perfumes
If the whipped cream is the part that appeals most to you (let's be friends), there are plenty of other fragrances playing with the same note. For example, philosophy Fresh Cream (currently on sale for $58.40 at Adore Beauty) leans fully into the whipped cream fantasy, pairing its creamy heart with hints of buttercream and tonka bean for a nostalgic, dessert-like finish.
Phlur's Heavy Cream ($66 at MECCA) offers a more understated, cool-girl take on the note, creating milky, decadent sweetness through a hybrid of whipped cream, coconut cream and vanilla mousse. Its scent doesn't stick around as long as a traditional EDP (or even EDT) as it's more of a fragrance mist, but its light-as-air aroma is definitely dreamy regardless.
My other favourite cream-centric fragrance? The cheap-but-chic Sabrina Carpenter Sweet Tooth EDP ($49.99 at Chemist Warehouse). It's about as gourmand as it gets, with marshmallow, chocolate, coconut milk and vanilla all layered over a combo of sugar and whipped cream. And in true Sabrina Carpenter fashion, it's committed to the bit, with a pale pink chocolate block-inspired bottle.
