Prada launches their first-ever beauty line

Prada has finally thrown their hat (or should we say bag?) into the designer beauty ring…The launch now joins the likes of Chanel, Dior, Gucci and, more recently, Hermès.
As Miuccia Prada’s brainchild, it’s safe to say the collection is luxe, consciously edited and, of course, inclusive of the brand’s iconic triangular emblem. The line was developed in collaboration with Global Creative Makeup Artist at Prada, Lynsey Alexander.
The range’s futuristic undertone is also reflected in the appointment of Global Creative E-Makeup Artist Ines Marzat. This encapsulates the line’s overarching theme of ‘Rethinking Beauty’.
Launching on their US site on August 1 with lipsticks, lip balm, foundation, cream, serum, cleanser, and makeup tools, the label will be available in European retailers on August 18. Here’s hoping it will reach Aussie shores soon…
The Prada Beauty collection
Prada has forayed into skin care with an uber luxurious ‘Augmented Skin’ trio.
On top of the luxe list is the Augmented Skin The Cream (approximately $546 AUD). Described as a gel-to-balm cream, the formula is said to adapt to your skin in real time, via their Adapto.gn Smart Technology™.
The Augmented Skin The Serum (approximately $561 AUD) and Augmented Skin The Cleanser (approximately $121 AUD) round out their skin offerings.
While it has yet to launch on its site, Prada Beauty also welcomes the Reveal Skin Optimising Foundation ($92 at Harrods). Touting a medium coverage and luminous finish, the formula also includes vitamins C and E to nourish the skin when applied.
Lip and eye colours also enter the scene, with six quad Prada Dimensions palettes (approximately $151 AUD) and 26 lipstick shades. 13 shades are available in the Hyper Matte formula while the remaining 13 are available in the Soft Matte formula (both approximately $75 AUD).
