Designer Brands Hi-Lights Illuminator

I was curious to try out the DB's Hi-Lights Illuminator to see how it compares to some of the liquid illuminators released by the big brands in the market. The liquid illuminator has a very smooth texture and two drops is all I needed to highlight my face. I usually would apply the foundation first then apply this liquid highlighter on top. It was super easy to apply and blended out evenly with a natural finish. This liquid highlighter does exaggerate my pore a little area the high point of my cheeks. All in all, a great product to try.

A have a few DB products and am always thrilled at the price. I finally ran out of my Avon highlighter (and as Avon is no more in Aus) had to find an alternative. I bought the pearl shade (as I am blonde) and it gives my cheek(apples) look so healthy without looking like makeup. It is easy to apply and it is hard to use too much as the hole in the top of the bottle is very small. It glides on and blends in fast and easily. Love this product.

Throw out every drugstore highlighter you have now and this is why: While waiting for a prescription to be filled at my local pharmacy, I was browsing the makeup section (they know me too well - I always end up spending a small fortune on conveniently placed makeup items ha!) and stopped at the Designer Brands stand. I found myself gravitating towards the highlight section and quickly swatched their illuminator in 'bronze'. It only gave the slightest hint on a glow and wasn't all that wowed by it at first, but decided I would buy it anyway along with their 'Brilliant Skin Bronzer and Illuminator Duo' (did I tell you how I always spend a small fortune on conveniently placed drugstore makeup?!).  Now, I love having non foundation days and this product is perfect for giving that glowy skin look without looking like a roast chicken. On my non foundation days. I simply go through my usual skincare routine (cleanser, mask, sunscreen, moisturiser) and lightly dab this highlighter on the tops of my cheek, bridge of my nose and cupid's bow with my fingers. Using this with my concealer just to spot conceal and remove any redness, gives me a perfect glowy, heathy skin look without the heaviness of full makeup.  I've lost count of the amount of compliments I've received on how glowy my skin looks whenever I used this product, with or without foundation. My one big tip though when using it with foundation, is to pair it with the illuminator that comes in the bronzer and illuminator duo mentioned above to give that maximum glow (you know the one, the one that allows you to use my favourite hashtag - #thatglowtho). The texture itself is incredibly lightweight and creamy and only the smallest amount is needed which is convenient because it only comes in the tiniest little plastic bottle. Although, I have started applying small amounts on my collar bone, shins and tops of my shoulder to give an all over "summer (fake) bronzed goddess" glow, so I'm betting I'll be purchasing a lot more of these cute little bottles - thank goodness they're super affordable! PROS: - Gives a gorgeous natural glow - Lightweight - Creamy - Affordable - Easy to apply and blend CONS: - The bottles are really little and while it's convenient for travelling, I wish they were bigger I am totally in love with this product and honestly can't raving about it. You can all thank me later!

I have been using this budget beauty buy for the last few years, and its amazing and just as good as the more expensive brands. I love the applicator tip, it's easy to use with minimal waste. I use it on top of my foundation under my eyes for the perfect high light. It's a pink based highlighter so great for pale skin.
